Tuesday, June 28th-

Our honeymoon started off so smoothly! We got to the
airport and on the plane without having to pay any
of the extra baggage fees. This was a surprise because
I had to take everything on the honeymoon that I had
to take back to Michigan with me because I would not
be returning home to NC after the honeymoon.
We flew Continental Airlines and boy am I glad
that we did! All of the flights were on time, unlike Delta.

We ended up getting into Mexico at about 3:00pm
(Customs is crazy!) and we went ahead and got some
money changed into peso. I would recommend changing
it at the resort because we found the rate to be better there.
Or don’t even exchange it at all! They take USA dollars in
most places. Once stepping out of the security doors pass
customs, the Time Share people will try to bait you in!
Don’t stop! LOL!! We stopped and listen to the spill because
we thought that they were there to help us with our transfer
to the resort (It was how they called out our transfer provider
name as if it was them). We end up leaving after saying no
and made it outside and met our van transfer. It was another
newly married couple on the van that was going to another
Secret’s Resort, so our trip took about 35-45 mins to get to Secrets Maroma. We ended up dropping them off first.

Once we got to the gates of the resort, we was like “Oh Lord,
where are they taking us!” The roads was so bumpy because
it had rained and it was a dirt road. As we got deeper into the
resort, the road changed into pave and we started to see things
look better. When we finally pulled up to the resort it was so beautiful! When we got out, they tagged our bags and handed us champagne and cold wet towels for our face and hands. So refreshing. After checking in, we ended up going to the bar and getting a drink!

When we got to the room, we were so amazed at how beautiful
it was! I would love to get some furniture from Mexico! We checked out everything and went to the patio to see our swim out pool! So worth the money! We had champagne, a welcome letter and roses waiting for us. By the time we got settled, it was probably 5 or
6pm so we decided to order room service and call it an evening.

Wednesday, June 29

We got up and caught the awesome breakfast buffet! The Mimosas was always refilled and I totally enjoyed them. After breakfast, we ended up going back to the room and got ready to look around and to head to the beach. The Resort is so beautiful and the beach is absolutely gorgeous! White sands and blue water for miles! Once we got seated, a server came and took our drink orders. From this point on our cups was always filled! We laid out for a while, played in the water got some of the best fish tacos EVER and headed back to get in our private pool! Wonderful relaxing time. That night we went to the Mexican Restaurant that was a not like the Mexican restaurants that we were used to here in the states. It was more “French” if you would. Didn’t really like it. After dinner we headed to a show.

Thursday June 30

On this day we had our breakfast in bed! It was really good. It didn’t come with any meat so the day before when we scheduled our breakfast we also ordered hash browns, Omelets, bacon and sausage. For most of the day, we just slept by the pool and ordered room service for lunch. So….. for why I now call Jason “Senor Brown”! Why, while we was hanging out at the pool, did Jason shut the door locking us out of our room! I kept saying only Senor Brown could lock us out of our room with a sliding door! LOL!! We ended up getting housekeeping to let us back in.

That night we went to the Japanese Restaurant (You have to make reservations for this restaurant) and had a great dinner with 2 other couples. The food and drinks were great and I got to taste sushi for the very first time! LOVE IT! Jason, not so much! LMAO!! After dinner we headed to the room.

Friday July 1

We took a taxi into town and went to the mall and movies there to see Transformers 3 (only request from the Mr. months before the wedding) But we had a great time and the movie was even in English with Spanish subtitles. After the movies we ended up going to this store very much like Wal-Mart and got us some tequila for the LOW LOW!

Saturday July 2

We just relaxed this day not doing much but ordering drinks and food and enjoying each other. That night we went to the Seafood restaurant and had the best Surf and Turf ever!!!! After dinner we went to a show. I think that this was the night that we got way too drunk and ended up in the hot tub somehow! BEST NIGHT EVER!

Sunday July 3

Another just chill and relax day. By this time I had started to get eaten up by Mosquitoes! It was day time and they would find themselves in the room :-( I kept applying cream that only seemed to work for a little while! So if you do go to Mexico, please make sure that you have spray, repellant and some type of candle for your room!

We ended up going to the Steak house this night. The food was really great! The waiters started calling me “Tequila” Because I was taking so many shots the previous night! Lmao!!! And SMH! We went to hip hop show after dinner. The show was pretty cool and was pretty fun.

Monday July 4th

We got up a little earlier so we could catch a cab into town again to do a little shopping. We got back to the resort at about 4pm and headed straight to the beach for the last time. After the beach we headed to the Japanese restaurant again and enjoyed the July 4th festivities.

Review of Secret Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun-

A

This resort is so beautiful! They treat you very nice and like royalty. We never had to wait long for food and drinks (That includes room service at 2am in the morning!). The restaurants that we loved (In Order) were the Seafood Restaurant, Japanese Restaurant, Steakhouse, and Mexican Restaurant. They also had a French and Italian restaurant that we didn’t try. The shows were pretty good. They make sure that your room is cleaned every day and that your drinks are restocked. As far as the beach, it is wonderful and the drink service is on point! The pool was always so packed and we were so glad that we had our own pool at the room. The only issue that I found was the Mosquitoes attacking us toward the last days of the trip. So we would and probably will return but will take plenty of Mosquitoes spray and other products.
