cake flavors--We are stumped and need some help.

Ok Ladies I know that the lady doing our cake is going to do a tasting with us, but I want to go in with some kind of idea in mind so we dont leave with upset stomachs. Since neither one of us are big cake eaters I dont make many. I know Brandons favorite flavor is German Chocolate, I dont really have a favorite flavor. I know that it will be 3 tier in white foundant, but its the inside that i need help with. What flavor were y'alls cakes? and advice is very much needed and greatly appreciated.

we are doing pretty basic flavors, if i remember correctly. But we are fancying it up a bit with fillings and icing.  I think we decided on white chocolate, champagne, and chocolate as layers. The chocolate has a kahlua filling, and the others have raspberry and I can't remember. I found out I can't eat gluten in the process of the wedding planning so the cake is the least important to me personally, just cause I can't eat it so I understand not caring so much about it! If the cake has a good taste, you really can't pick a bad flavor.  Let us know what you guys choose! Who is your cake vendor?

We did:  tres leches, white with raspberry filling, and chocolate with ganache filling.

We did our top tier plain white--I don't advise that really.  It seemed really plain and simple compared to all the rest.  The fillings are what give it pizazz!

ETA:  Oh and I love champagne--unfortunately my vendor didn't have it but it's one of my favorites.

Ours was a white cake (it might have been white chocolate) with the plain cream cheese icing.  It was delicious and wonderful and we got tons of compliments on the cake.  We didn't do any fillings because we had some people who had allergies and I really didn't want to do the guessing game on which layer was which and what did I have, etc.  We did like the champagne, the lemon and the Grand Marnier though.  BTW, we used Dallas Affaires because they were the company Maggiano's contracted with for wedding cakes.

We did end up having another testing before with a different baker and her cakes were dry and tasteless and some of her flavors were down right disgusting.

Mmm...red velvet is one my favorites.

For our cake we are doing chocolate mint, red velvet, dulce de leche, and almond (which is like a really amazing white cake--we were surprised how much we liked it)

We are doing pina colda and hazelnut with buttercream icing-we aren't doing fondant because it tastes terrible and sucks the cake dry.  For the groom's cake it's going to be double chocolate with ganache icing.

I just used vanilla for my cake and chocolate for my groom's cake.  Man I feel boring.  Everyone still enjoyed it though.

Ours is white with raspberry creme filling, white with amaretto creme filling, and chocolate with ganache filling.

I also second Marissa in that almond flavored cake is REALLY good.
