I need to find some. The wedding and reception are on grass, and I don't want much heel. And I HATE shoes (that aren't tennis shoes or boots) that have backs - they always give me blisters. I've looked at a bunch of websites, and everything is tall heels with backs. Any suggestions?

How much heel are you comfortable with? Zappos is nice b/c you can search specifically on heel height and they have a large selection. Even if they don't have your size you can google the style & find it somewhere else.

no suggestions here. mine will be on grass too, and I'm wearing tall heels. but I'm getting heel stoppers (probably going to buy a few pairs in case the BMs or moms need them).

Do you actually WANT heels at all? Or just think you should have fancier shoes? You could just wear sparkly flip flops or something. Or take Fischy up on a loan of her Crocs...

ac, FI is only about 1.5 inches taller than me, so that's about the limit. I'll wear super tall heels with jeans and such sometimes and he doesn't care, but I don't want to do that for the wedding pics.

I know when spring shoes come out, there are always strappy sandles and slides with no backs. You might just need to wait a bit.

Kate, I'd like a little heel, because my posture is better in heels. I'm sorta hoping I can find some flops that are the same height, though, so that I can switch and not drag my dress in the grass TOO badly.

did you google "dyeable shoes" and search all those web sites? There are 3 or 4 companies that do these. They have huge selections, and even though most of the shoes are ass ugly there are a couple that are cute.

Yeah, if you wanna go less than 1.5" I'd probably just look for flats...I think they're more elegant and feminine than a lot of the low heels you see.

Dani, the strap doesn't give me blisters, it's just weird because I never buy those either. I could, though.

Also, my photog takes such cute pics of shoes, and I don't want them to look all walked in for the pics, but I want to break them in a bit. Suggestions on how to do that? In the house with pantyhose on?

What size shoe do you wear?! lol. I opted to go with flats and I'm soooooo glad I did....we took picutres for 3 hours, so I was on my feet pretty much the entire day.

What about wedges? Coloriffics and a few other companies make some elegant (not chunky) wedge heels. I live in wedge heels because of all the shiitty brick sidewalks up here.

Totally understand the heels/posture thing...mine is better in heels too. And I will be conquering the same issue eventually, FI is only a teeny bit taller than me too. We are both short, though!

awwwww, that's too bad, I would totally be honored if you wore mine, but alas, I'm really short and wear a size 6, lol. But I got them at Off Broadway shoes....and they have a big selection. You should check them out if you haven't been. I love it there.

Kate, I'm the shortest in my immediate family at 5'7", and FI is the tallest in his at 5'9" or so. The guests at the wedding are going to be a foot taller on the bride's side of the aisle. My dad is literally 15 inches taller than FI's mom.

The one in St. Matthews? I love that place too, but all their wedding-y shoes are 3+ inch heels. Don't get me wrong, I've got some 4 & 5 inch heels that I LOVE, I just don't want that for the wedding.

I hve no advice for shoes, but I used the heel stoppers from the UK and they were WONDERFUL!

My photographer is buying some so he can have them on hand for grass shots.

I had the same issue...FI and I are both short, he is about 2 1/2 inches taller than me maybe. In the end I opted for flats b/c I liked them more than the kitten heels I could find. I'm definitely going to have to watch my posture...but they are insanely comfy at least.

Yeah, FMIL decided she liked me when she realized I could get stuff out of the tops of cabinets for her without a stepstool. hahaha

I hadn't looked at the Dessy site, as we didn't look at their dresses, but they do have some cute stuff!

Koopa, what shoes did you get?

Opal, I don't know if I can walk in wedges. They don't flex like other shoes, as best I remember. I might have to try some on.

When you say boots, what kind of boots? Like cowboy boots or a dress boot? Ariat makes cute boots in their "Fatbaby" line. They have some that are pink or have pink on them. They are super comfortable and can be worn with jeans after. Not trying to be all hick here or anything though

I am a total flipflop girl myself. Or heels, but that obv doesn't work for you.

Um, boots. As in, shoes that have backs but can be worn with socks. Any sort of boot. Ski boot, snow boot, riding boot, knee-high black slouchy suede dress boots. I wasn't looking to buy boots to go with my dress. I was pointing out that they are one of two types of shoes with closed heels that I can wear without getting blisters.

I like the Dessy flats! too bad I didn't know about those about a year ago. already bought my shoes.

also, I tend to get blisters in shoes with backs too. so now, every time I buy a new pair of shoes with full backs (pumps, flats, whatever), they get heel pads in the back. I buy the cheap gray ones from Walgreens (only from Walgreens) because they stay on the best. no more blisters!
