Close Honeymoon Recommendation

Ladies, I need help thinking of a place to go on our honeymoon.  Ideally we want a NICE resort within an 8 hour drive from the twin cities, on a fairly big lake that has restaurants we can boat to, good water where we can ski, a spa, and some tourist attractions.  Has anyone been someplace or know of a great resort?  We are pretty set that we want to go someplace with our boat.  The only thing we can currently think of is Lake Okiboji in Iowa and we would like some other options.

My friends stayed at Canoe Bay Resort in Wisconsin and absolutely loved it! They said the staff took really great care of them and the resort was beutiful and food was amazing!

You could check out Craigins or one of the Brainerd Lakes area resorts like Maddens.  I'm sure they have all the services you are looking for.

I second the Brainerd Lakes. Grandview Lodge is AWESOME, you can boat to restaurants, ski, there are cute shops and restaurants in Nisswa, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I love the Brainerd lakes area but we usually go there once or twice a summer.  So we are looking for something a little different.  I will have to check out stuff on Lake Michigan and The Canoe Bay Resort.  Thanks for the suggestions so far, if you have anymore please keep them coming.

We went to a spa resort on Lake Delton (WI Dells) and had a wonderful time there for our mini-moon.

You could try Round Lake in Hayward WI. The original Famous Dave's is on that lake, and Hayward is a great lake town! Lots of good restaurants, and Round Lake is pretty big.

We stayed at Rhapsody Resort & Spa.

Bayfield WI might be another idea, though not sure on the lake part.  That was one of our runner-up locales.

There was a Hayward WI person at the wedding fair and the places there looked really nice.

Don't forget to think about Door County in WI.  It's beautiful there in every season :)
