Did you buy the dress you liked in a magazine/online?

Is it worth looking for dresses online/in magazines?

I looked at lots of pictures online and in magazines which showed what kind of style I liked the most.  Also, when I went to the store for the first time I had a list of some dresses I saw online that I had wanted to try.  This helped the sales associate pull other dresses that were simliar that she thought I'd like.  I ended up going with one that she had pulled!

I think it may help you narrow down to a look that you like.  But I wouldn't just try on dresses you see in a magazine.  Try on something random, you never know, you could fall in love!

I looked a lot online. I just wanted to get a feel of what I liked and didn't like. Ended up getting one of the dresses I really liked online :-)

I really liked a Maggie dress that I found online but way out of my budget. The place I went to found one that looks so similar.

I looked at dresses online and in the end I got one that was fairly different than what I bought. I liked all the Maggie dresses with pick-ups, but I ended up with a Soterro & Midgley that was really poofy and had none at all.

As for the question is it "worth it", I guess I'd say yes and no. I think that it is an ok way to see what floats your boat so that you can have something to tell the consultant in the store, but I don't think that it is worth sinking a ton of time into unless you can afford to buy the exact dresses you're seeing.

I bought the style I thought I would. There wasn't a dress that I fell in love with in magazines.

    Ditto Kayla!

I looked online & in magazines to help me figure out what style I wanted & then ended up getting one that the sales lady pulled for me.  I originally thought I hated it, but soon fell in love!  = )

I looked a lot in magazines to see what I gravitated towards. I also saw a dress by my designer at a bridal show and fell in love with it. I made sure to go to the bridal salon that carried it, and I ended up buying one just slightly different from the one I saw.

Also, at the bridal salon, I tried on all different styles of dresses to be sure I loved what I thought I did.

I bought the exact dress I picked out online. I found out one of the stores I was shopping at was having a trunk show for the designer that actually brought the dress into my price range. It was meant to be.
