Bridal Shower Dress

Hello fellow knotties!

So, I just recently discovered that I can write all my questions out to a wonderful group of people and get great helpful feedback-I fear I may never stop posting! haha!

Ok down to my next question-
Yesterday, I went over to White House Black Market (love that store!) and bought this dress:

It is part of their new fall collection and I thought it would be great for my bridal shower next month (I usual go plain little black dress for occassions but I wanted to do something a little more fun). After I got home the over thinking began. As we all know, Labor Day is comming up and your not suppose to wear white (except the wedding dress of course!) after Labor Day. Do you think this dress is a fashion Faux pas or can I get away with the hint of white in the dress? Thanks girls!

The "no white after Labor Day" rule really no longer applies. In modern fashion, you can wear whatever color you'd like, regardless of the season.

It's a lovely dress! Wear it and enjoy it.

First of all, pshaw to not wearing white after labor day. It's 2010... you can wear white in November and fall colors in April. Wear what looks good.

Second of all, like wearing white to a wedding, that 'rule' is about wearing <strong>all</strong> white. No one's going to get worked up about that white background.

I think the dress is great, but it does strike me as a bit formal, and showers tend to be a little more casual (at least the ones I've been to). If you wear that you should definitely expect to be the most dressed-up person in the room.

Thanks nhelene! I kno I thought of that too lol. I ran it by the BM's to see what they think too- I want to be surprised so I don't want to know where the shower is going to be held. I usually do over dress haha-i'm sure nobody will be surpised

I think that dress is perfect (I would probably wear something similar to my own shower)! The last shower I went to, the bride actually wore a strapless, sequiny little dress. I don't think yours is too dressy.
