Changing my mind!!

Okay so just when I thought I had everything planned now I am thinking I want to do something else.. I was orginally planning my ceremony at the flamingo and renting out one of their banquet rooms but now I feel like I need to do something different for my reception. I want to have dinner/ drinks and then party..  It's vegas and I feel that we shouldn't be locked up in one room for the hole night when there are so much things to do.. What are you ladies doing after your ceremony. I need some ideas I feel so lost.. Thanks for all your help in advance!!

I had the same feeling about my reception - don't want to be locked up in a room all night - so am leaning towards having dinner at one of the buffets on the strip and then taking a strip tour for some photos and then going back to our hotel suite for drinks and dancing to our own playlist :)

  • I'm leaning towards buffet dinner, some kind of activity after like DDB, and then whatever happens...
  • We are doing a dinner from 6-9 at Mon Ami Gabi and then going out after that.  Probably just walking around together or a piano bar - nothing too crazy, but I like the option of leaving the rest of the night open to do what you feel like ;)

  • Agreed! Vegas is no place for a stuffy wedding! We have the flexibility of having a very small group of young people (like 6 people small) so we just have dinner booked at Canaletto and then we can go wherever the wind takes us! I've been looking at Chandelier bar because it looks beautiful and would make for some fun wedding dress pictures!

  • Dempsey, I want to check out chandelier bar too. It looks gorgeous in the photos I've seen...
  • We are going to have a dinner reception at Wicked Spoon Buffet at The Cosmopolitan. I rented the Party Bus from Presidential Limo for 2 hours to take us down the strip and hopefully have time to go to downtown. After that, who knows. :).

  • We are doing our ceremony at the Flamingo also and then doing dinner at PJ Clarke's in the Forum Shops and then just going out on the strip and pretty open to whatever.

  • We're getting married at Imperial Palace (now The Quad) and then heading back to our suite for heavy hors d'ouevres, cupcakes, and drinks. We're using an iPod instead of a DJ to keep the noise to a reasonable level.

Those with enough energy are joining us on our strip tour with Todd. It's not going to be a very long tour, just the Vegas sign, the Bellagio fountains, and Fremont Street. Once the pictures are done, I'm changing into a reception-style dress, keeping the fascinator (no veil), and heading to the casinos and bars with whoever is left. My friend is a photographer, so she's going to get some candid shots once Todd's time is up.
  • Thank you all for ideas.. I am totally thinking about just doing dinner somewhere and hitting the strip after.. I think it will be more fun that way.. Thanks again!! :)
  • i agree with in suite reception, or plan a morning ceremony and lunch reception like me =) w'ell be done with the wedding stuff by 4pm have time to re-coop, lounge by pool, and head out and party more.
