Hey hey! Don't make me drink alone.

Re: Hey hey! Don't make me drink alone.

  • There are few TV characters I hate. But I HATE Serena. I hate what they did to her character from the book. They did a pretty good job with Blair though, who I loved from the beginning of the books.
Musu, are you talking about Idol?
    Posted by aleighk1
Yes. I also think that SYTYCD's group night is way more intense, but I am obviously biased. I cannot imagine having to choreograph an entire dance with 5 people who do different styles and perfecting it in ONE NIGHT. That is insanity. At least a song is pre-written beforehand with the melody and everything.

  • Musu, I think that's because Leighton Meester is awesome and Blake Lively sucks. It's easy to make a good character for someone if they are a good actor, but there is just no hope for Blake. She's only good at dressing like a hooker and not brushing her hair.
  • Group Night usually shows you who to hate on Idol. That's when the truly insufferable people reveal their true colors, like that kid in the cowboy hat.

This is very true. I also like Chuck's character but was really bummed in the beginning when I found out he was TOTALLY different from the book Chuck. I wish they would've kept a gay Chuck sometimes. But I also really like current Chuck too.

SVU, I LOVE SVU. The episode last night was old school SVU with all the spotlight on Mariska. I loved it. I really miss Meloni but when they focus on Mariska, I get really happy.

  • Yeah, they did change Chuck's character a lot. But I love Ed Westwick so I'll forgive them.
  • The cowboy hat kid sounds like Scotty. Wannabe.
  • Book Vanessa is also totally different than show Vanessa. Jenny too.

Very true. And this girl who was such a hoebag about singing ONLY two of the songs so she couldn't find a group because she wasn't willing to budge. I hope that girl who lives in a tent does well. I like her accent. lol.

  • Oh my god I hate show Vanessa. Show Jenny was amusing, better than the annoying book Jenny. Although I thought it was funny they chose such a tiny boobed actress.

  • I wish I would've watched the auditions. FI doesn't like AI so I don't watch it.

I know. Taylor Momsen is the physical opposite of the book Jenny. I have to wonder what they were thinking.
  • Is there a polite way to ask someone if they're still married? haha A girl I was friends with in high school got married a year ago and her last name on FB is still her maiden name and there isn't anything about being married on her FB. Her husband is in the military and is stationed in Hawaii but she never talks about him but I'm really nosy and I want to know if they're still married.
  • I just hate how they are all such divas about it. I mean, everyone wants to make it through, but what is the point of arguing so much with each other? I dunno. I feel like a lot of these people don't get the definition of compromise.

  • Confession:  I'm a little jealous of all this TV show talk.  We still haven't bothered to get our cable set up. H practically lived at the studio last semester. When I moved out here in Oct. I was so busy wedding planning and working out that I didn't care either, then we spent most of Dec. out of the state/country. Now we should probably wait til I get a job.

We watch a few of our favorites (HIMYM, TBBT, Justified, Jersey Shore lol) online but it's just not the same.

I have a huge girl crush on Mariska Hargitay. And if I could be a different woman, I'd want to be Olivia Benson. She is so badass. I looooove Chris Meloni. J likes him too because he wants to believe that he would be that kind of a cop if he were one. Minus the Catholic thing, and less of an anger thing, haha.

Yeah I remember when the show first started I was like WTF why is Jenny flat chested and why is Vanessa black with lots of hair? haha. I love book Vanessa. I guess that look isn't "pretty enough" for CW tv though.

  • I don't know what you all are talking about, but hi!  Just got back from having dinner with a friend, and I am now eating frozen yogurt.  My garage door opener didn't work when I was coming home, hopefully it's just that the battery died.

    H comes home tomorrow, yayayayayayay!

ski, where in PA were you?  I'm another PA girl - I grew up in Bucks County, just north of Philly.
  • That sucks about the garage opener, abbs. I didn't have a working garage door for 2.5 months and it was a pain in the ass.

Consider yourself lucky, in a way. You have the freedom from crappy shows to do stuff like read good books. Which I don't do enough of because I'm addicted to the internet and crappy TV.
Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler kick ass. That one episode where he was in his undies? Yessir. I'm trying to come up with BM gifts. And failing. I also need to think of shower gifts for guys and girls.

I also love that the show never put them together as a couple. They kept it classy.

  • Abba, NEPA, a little town in Bradford County, right on the New York State border.  I still own a house in NEPA (the one I raised my kids in), we listed it with a real estate agent last week.  Fingers crossed that it sells quickly.

    ::waves hi to everyone::

    How is everyone?

Not much new with me.  Work schedule is crazy.  Chef D is awesome.  Getting ready for Mardi Gras.  That's about it.

ETA - I'm a PA girl too.  Chester County

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

I wish!  I'm still totally unproductive.  I've been online since this afternoon.  Looking for jobs, but mostly on here and Pinterest. And H just called to say he's not coming home for dinner and will be at the studio until midnight.  That means I'll probably keep doing a whole lot of nothing.

  • Hello! I had a day of drama club with my middle schoolers, then I came home and baked some lemon sugar cookies. They were just ok, so I am disappointed- too flour-y. Oh well, a mediocre cookie I better than no cookie! And my boots didn't arrive, I missed them by 20 minutes. I WANT MY VEGAN MADDEN GIRL BOOTS! tomorrow I will have them on my feet. Fact.
