Wedding Woes

::YAWN!:: Good morning...

Hi everyone.  How was the weekend?

Ours was great.  Friday, DH and I took 1/2 days at work.  My friend A and her BF met us at our house around 2pm.  We took off for Chicago.  We stopped in at my parents house along the way.  We got to our friends house around 6:30p or so.  We ordered pizza for dinner.  We all hung around, drank, and talked.  The boys went to the basement to play some air hockey.  I feel asleep around 2am or so.

Saturday, we woke up and hung out for a little bit.  We then headed to the hotel.  We parked the car and then went to visit another college friend of A's.  He lives in a loft apartment in the old Marshall Fields building.  The building and his apartment were really neat.  He was getting ready to take a trip to Germany and Italy for the next three weeks or so.  Some for work and some vacation.   So we only saw him for about a 1/2 hour.  We went to a late lunch after that and then checked into the hotel to get ready for the wedding.

The wedding was great.  It was held in a really old and historic building.  They had a non-religious ceremony...which IDK if I've been to a wedding that did not have some element of religion to it.  Their readings were poems.  They also did a hand washing ceremony.

The reception was a ton of fun.  Great music and food.  They had cake and a crepes station for dessert.  I had a crepe.   DH and I danced a lot.  I also felt like we really had a lot of opportunity to talk to the bride and groom, which was nice.

Yesterday, we drove home.  I'm exhausted.   How's everyone else?

I had an excellent weekend. Recap on facebook. I got ::counts on fingers:: 10 hours of sleep last night so I'm more rested today than I thought I would be today. FI has the day off so when I left he was still sleeping. Of course I woke up at 3:30 and he was still up, so I'm sure he needed the sleep.

    Sounds like a good time!

DH took the kid Saturday afternoon so I took a bath, read, and napped.  Saturday night was vodka and BCBC.  Yesterday church, shooting pool (6let loves it), and a nice walk.  Pretty boring, but whatever.

I'll have to upload the goofy pic of 6let playing pool.  He laughs like nothing else.

My weekend was very food based.  I had to be rolled around by the end of it.  Dinner at Ruth' Chris on Saturday night.  Food was really good, but it took 40 minutes from the time we ordered until our food arrived, which was annoying.   Sunday was brunch at Georgia Brown's, which was also delicious.  Sunday night was a trip to Sonic with two friends and their son.  I'm pretty exhausted today and really didn't want to come into work.

    Good Morning,

My weekend was spent doing lots of nothing.  My parents left town on Saturday to go to AZ to see what was up with Gma. So no breakfast with the fam.  But I did run errand than sat my ass on the couch and watched tons of tv.  H is working on a cabinet job, so it was me and the mutts.

Sunday, same thing.  But with napping. LOL.  It was awesome.

My weekend was productive and frustrating.

Got home from running some errands with DH and when we got into the house, we see two cats standing there. WTF?? Miso got out of the bedroom. So much for gradual introductions! There was no blood of hair tuffs anywhere, but they aren't getting along so great. Lot of chasing, growing and hissing. So we're letting Miso out and about while we're home but locking him (yes, locking the door) up when we're not home or overnight.

Sunday DH went to school and I did a ton of house repairs and shopping. Miso and Sake broke a vase.

DH comes home with a bag from Lord and Taylor. He bought me a Lucky handbag I saw the day before but wouldn't buy because it was too much money (around $150). He went back to get it and it was 20% off! Squee! I'm a little annoyed with him for spending the money but it was super sweet of him and he said I deserve it. Well yes I do! Here's a picture....

Sat AM - easter egg hunt (story/pics on the blog for  those who visit there).  It was FORTY-SIX DEGREES. WTF?  Anyway, it was over in about 3 minutes. Dex got 3 eggs.  Poor kid didn't really know what was going on.  The plus side of that is he has no idea he didn't do so well in the egg-gathering department.

Mostly, I did chores.  I tried to nap when he napped on Saturday, and that turned into a nearly four-hour nap.  Interestingly, it did zero to impede my ability to go to sleep Saturday night.

Then I went to walgreens to scoop up some diaper deals. <--sad way to spend Saturday

Sunday Dex/we slept in. Had breakfast. Played some. Went to swimming lessons. Had big adventures at Walmart. Went out to a new italian place in town (was pretty good).

I think I did eight loads of laundry this weekend and still probably have 2-3 to go.  That did include 2 whole loads of towels and 2 whole loads of sheets, but geez.

Last night we did a mad dash to pick up the house because the cleaning people come today.  The clutter had gotten way out of hand.

Still, I consider it a pretty good weekend.  I even got to make a little bit of a dent in our taxes, which should only take about an hour, but I only get to work on it for 5 minutes at a time.
