Insanity - 3 for 3

It's done. That 5am wake up call is the worst part. My body seems to sense when my alarm will go off, so I've been starting to wake up around 4:15/4:30 and just lay there until the alarm goes off. Luckily this week I haven't had too much to do in the evenings so we've gone to bed early.

For those of you that are considering doing this, I highly recommend it. It's definitely a go-at-your-own pace kind of thing. You can take breaks when you need to (I use the pause button liberally) and you feel like a freaking rock star when you're done!

Great job Tiger for sticking with it!!  I soooo wish I could work out in the mornings, I think I would be much more successful at sticking to a program but i already wake up at 5am for work & so I'd be getting up around 4am if I decided to work out in the morning which is definitely not happening hahaha

Where do you get Insanity by the way? Order it online?

I got the files from a friend. Usually the video stops and starts, but the audio works fine, so I keep up with it that way. I'm guessing if you actually bought the files it would work better. I believe the company that makes it is called BeachBody.

Also, if you guys would rather NOT get these daily updates for the next 60 days, just let me know... I can give weekly updates instead. I just don't want you all thinking I slacked off if I don't start a thread :)

Awesome job tiger! I agree with rdr - I'm already getting up at 4:30, so I can't imagine working out in the morning. I'm so glad you're already feeling really great about the program. I have no doubt you'll reach your goals in no time!

Yay Tiger! I'm glad you like it. I wish I could workout in the mornings too, but my neighbors below us wouldn't appreciate it very much, lol. I took my rest day yesterday. I've been working 12 hour shifts lately and needed a nap to catch up. I don't hit the pause button, but I'll still take breaks like the people in the DVD do. I catch my breath, get a drink and jump back in.

RDR: You can get it online at Beachbody's website (google "Insanity") or you can get it at Amazon and other places like that. I'd go for whatever is cheapest because they're still going to be the same dvd's. I actually just got the files from my brother.

I don't mind you posting at all. If it helps you stay on point, keep posting! I find it motivating to hear that others are "kicking their own butts" too. It's easier for me to make myself go to the gym when I know others are doing it as well!

I found it used (good condition) on Amazon for $80 -- plus I have a $20 gift card.  So my total would be $67 with shipping.  Is that good or should I continue shopping around??

Tiger, I like reading your updates!!!

RDR: That's a good deal because I think it's twice that if you buy it at the BeachBody site.

Tiger: Just curious, what other type of workouts did you do before trying Insanity?

Tiger: Are you aware of the free t-shirt incentive? If you do the Insanity and send them your before and after pictures showing your results, you get a free t-shirt that says "Insanity" on the front and "I earned it" on the back. Apparently you can't buy these shirts...well, maybe on ebay now that it's been out a while, lol.

I just did Cardio Abs on my work break. Only 16 minutes, but it's killer! I love it! :)

<div>No, I didn't know about this! I'm so glad I took my 'before' shot yesterday. And that will definitely be motivation for me to keep going. I know it's just a silly t-shirt, but I like 'earning' things!</div><div>
</div><div>When it isn't so hot, my normal workouts are anywhere from 2-8 mile runs and then some light weights, swimming and biking (when I'm training for a triathlon). Bike rides are usually the most intense workouts... 1 hr - 90 minutes of hills.</div><div>
</div><div>For the last couple months, I've been doing the eliptical at the gym for 20 minutes, then weights and abs. I was only working out 2-3 times per week though. I'm so glad to find this though. It's really kick-starting my fitness, and hopefully when it's done, I can slide right into running for my half marathon in December!</div>

Oh wow, you're doing a half in December?! I did one in April and I HATE cold weather running, lol. One day it was so cold, it was like -6 degrees, so I tied a bandana around my face. It got wet with me breathing on it and then froze, lol. I don't have a treadmill, btw. I also am not a fan of running on snow/ice. Maybe there won't be much of that for yours though.

I'd like to get more into biking but I don't want to spend the money for a better bike, lol. I'd like to do some swimming too but don't want to spend money on a membership somewhere. I'm cheap, lol.

The T-shirt is motivation for me too. I think it's cool to be able to earn it instead of buying it and most people won't do it.

<div>Luckily in December here the highs are still in the 60s. I did the Tucson Half last year and it was perfect weather (and mostly downhill). I'll probably do that one again, or maybe the PF Changs Half here in Phoenix in January.</div>
