Moms 50th Birthday!

So my mother is turing 50 in November and I asked her if she wanted a party an she said sure! In her mind, a party would be small, so to surprise her, I want her Birthday to be HUGE! But im having a little trouble on what I should use as a theme... She said she wanted a lot of color.  Any Ideas?

Thanks!

  • My family and I just dressed up really nice and took her out to a Michelin star restaurant. She has an amazing time and there was no mention of her age which I know she appreciated. Are you sure a huge party is her thing? She may be expecting and wanting something intimate with her loved ones.

I just threw my mom a 60th surprise party and we didn't do any kind of theme.  The colors we chose were red and cream, since she loves red, and I decorated with roses and balloons.  The cake matched those colors as well.
Honestly, themes are overrated.  Get some nice spring flower mixed bouquets and make centerpieces with them, and that'll be enough.  If you're getting plates, napkins, etc, just get different solit colors, that'll look nice without looking like a child's birthday party.
  • What are some of her interests?  Could you base a theme off that?

  • I went to a surprise party for someone turning 70. The theme was the 1970s and everyone dressed like Abba. The Soundtrack of Staying Alive played in the backround. Maybe you could do the 1950s? Pretty awesome fashion. James Dean and all.
