Videographer

Can anyone recommend a good videographer in CT? Originally we weren't going to have one because I didn't really think it was necessary. My mother has decided she really wants the wedding to be filmed but seeing as how my wedding is in 3 months I'm not sure if anyone will be available. Any recommendations?

Re: Videographer

  • We're using RI Video Pro (clicky). I originally didn't budget for a videographer and I really liked his price.

I also really like Fran Gagnon Films (clicky), but they were already booked for my wedding date.
  • My mom convinced me to get a video as well because I wasn't originally going to. I'm glad that I am now. :)

I have booked Randall Jenkins who is starting off and does weddings on the side. I think his quality is great (especially for the price). So far, he has been great to work with. Very responsive and flexible.

My sister and cousin used Digital Media Odyssey back in 2006 and 2007 and Matt's work has only gotten more and more amazing. I would have loved to have used him but his prices were out of my budget.

I second Matt Fink of Digital Media Odyssey. He's definitely not the cheapest out there, but he's amazing!!!! We used him for our wedding, and I can't rave enough. He's truly gifted, and he's just a really cool guy to be around. He was probably my favorite vendor. He does an amazing job capturing the emotion of the day in his videos in a really natural photojournalistic way. He also shoots in HD, so the quality of his videos is great. We got both DVDs and BluRay discs.

  • We're using David Long from Epic Filmmakers (formerly DL Video Productions). Like DMO, he is a little bit more pricey, but they do cinematic films and they are absolutely amazing! He is actually out of the Springfield area but he travels all over for no extra cost.

  • We booked Inspiration in Motion, but I think I may have gotten one of their last slots for the summer.
  • I booked DL Video Productions, and I'm continually amazed by how stellar their work is.

My one suggestion is no matter who you're deciding on, be sure to get a full length video as the bride received it. Several videographers I was really impressed with based on their trailer-length videos failed to impress me on full length videos. It really made a HUGE difference to me in the end, being able to see the full video!

  • Hi Ladies! Just thought I would post up about videography that wont break your bank! I remember as a bride last year, it was such a last minute purchase for me and I must say, I love it even more than my photos! Brian J Productions will given you a 5-8 minute montage as well as all raw footage, online streaming for friends and family to have access and shooting at unlimited locations all for $600! Visit his website www.brianjproductions.com or email brianjproductions@gmail.com
