Wedding Cake--Any suggestions?

Hello! I am getting married in Orange Park June 4, 2011 but I have no idea who to use for my wedding cake. Any suggestions? Orange Park or Jacksonville bakeries are fine

Publix! I didn't end up going with them because I found an awesome reasonably priced family owned bakery in St. Augustine, but Publix has great prices, they will do whatever you want and their cakes taste good!

Publix--for sure!  Our cake was fabulous, and about half the price of other bakeries we checked.  I brought in a drawing of what I wanted it to look like, and they were able to match it perfectly.

I'm using Publix.  I got a 2 tier cake and a Groom's cake and it's costing about $160.  They can customize it anyway you want and they are very tasty!

I agree- we haven't picked a baker yet, but publix had-by far- the best cake (in my opinion) at the recent wedding show at the library.

Classic Cakes is amazing. Its in Jax Beach and I don't have to pay any additional fee for them delivering out to Orange Park for my wedding in Oct.

Definitely Publix. We used the Publix near 209 off of 17 for our wedding. They did an amazing job. Here's a pic of our cake for reference (marble with buttercream frosting):

If stover's custom cakes responded to my calls, I'd recommend them. Their cake was the best I've ever had when I tried them at a bridal show fall 2009. In terms of Publix, I was hesitant because I've had normal publix cakes alot, but supposedly their wedding cakes taste great.( I hear it from my FMIL whose best friend is the baker at Publix who used to own her own cake business. biased or not, I don't know lol) I have a feeling that, none the matter, the best friend may be doing my wedding cake. If you want to know which Publix, let me know.

We are using Metro Custom Cakes.  Love them!  I tried Stover's at the same fall bridal show, and their cakes were like bricks.  Probably the worst cake I've ever had and threw it in the trash.

By the way beware of Publix, at least some of the stores.  A friend of mine went with Publix for her wedding.  The cake showed up as the reception was ending...a good 3 hours late.  They had to take the cake to their private suite and only the bridal party and a few close family members got to enjoy it.  Publix didn't offer an apology and didn't seem to care that she didn't have a cake for her reception.  My friend was devastated!
