I'm at work, through there's not much "work" to do. We get really slow around any holiday so today will be pretty light for us. I'm so damn tired though, so I could use a slow day at work.

I'm feeling pretty good for the most part. My incision sites on the inside of my cheeks aren't healing very well unfortunately, though, and they may cut out the area that is inflamed if it doesn't hurry up and start healing.
Morning! I'm working, but I work at home, so I worked yesterday, too. I'm going to my school Thursday - Monday for a big Arts Festival. All of my friends are coming in to town for it, too, so I'm really excited to see everyone. And FI and I have to get our marriage licence, since there's a three day waiting period.
It's really not that bad, I still think my wisdom teeth surgery was worse than this.
Oh, we went to Ikea this weekend and found deals so good even my tightwad husband couldn't pass them up. We finally got matching night tables for the master bedroom (everything I would normally keep in a night table like my TCYOF charts, nightly cuticle cream, and lube was in a pile in the floor next to the bed), lamps, and a linen storage thing for the end of the bed. The night tables were only $10, and they have drawers!
Morning. We made a discovery over the weekend. Max may not care about thunder, but he damn sure does NOT like fireworks. They are of the devil, and he will bark them away.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
Good morning, ladies. I must confess I have never been to IKEA. But I would like to someday.
Back to work today. But - it's a two-day week because we've got a 4-day weekend camping trip planned. Can't wait to go; it's my favorite trip of the year and our best friends are going too.

We discovered the opposite. Our pup hates thunder (well moreso the lightning), so I was really worried about the fireworks. He slept right through them, though.
Yay for stuff! Are the pets adjusting well to the new digs?
Yeah, Charlotte's the closest Ikea. It's probably not too bad of a drive for you; it's right off 85 (has it's own exit for Ikea Blvd) and it's on the north end of town.
Piping in: YES, it's in Charlotte, Rach. And you'll need me to go and be your tour guide. Actually, I just want to go. So let me know when you want to go!
I can't wait to go to IKEA! Rich made me (read: asked me nicely to throw away my ratty $10 garage sale black spray painted dresser) leave my dresser behind, so I'm in need of a new one!
i don't get it. you ladies live in the furniture capital of america, where you can get great quality real wood furniture for amazing prices, but you shop at ikea. i will never understand this.
Ha! I was thinking that yesterday. Here's my excuse--Wes's dad is the VP of one of the furniture companies, but they only make upholstered furniture (sofas and chairs). Anything we can get for free or at cost from FIL, we do (i.e., the red leather couch I wish I could give to Bec, the green leather couch, the chairs in every room). My dad works for another furniture company, but he can't get me anything for free and even at cost I can't afford their stuff (which is weird because they produce furniture for Crate and Barrel, William Sonoma, and Pottery Barn). So tables, kitchen chairs, beds, desks, etc, we're on our own, and it's still cheaper to buy them at Ikea than at the furniture outlet. Although we will probably splurge on the good stuff (Bernhardt is my favorite) at our next house. A lot of Wes's furniture is from Kmart.
Most of the great furniture has been outsourced to China and is just as shitty as IKEA stuff, but still 3X as expensive, even with our discount. Now you know.
If I'm shopping for pieces I'll keep for years and years, I'll buy stuff from where I work or from local shops who still make their own. That takes out a ton of the big names in furniture. But for tables, chairs, beds and things I'll be tired of after less than a decade, I'm going with IKEA.
The mid century modern stuff at IKEA is 1/10 of the price the good old boys make. If you like a lot of traditional stuff, then buy from NC. Anything modern and transitional is best bought at IKEA, unless you have $20K to drop on a sofa and two chairs from the company I work for.
Yeah, my dad dropped $5,000 on a couch after my mom left him. He was bragging to me what a good deal he got, they normally sell it for $10,000. He financed it for a year through his work, they just take it out of his paycheck. Craziness.
Good Morning. I have to spend most the morning skimming last nights post. Our computer is broke So now I have to wait till I get to work for even my e-mails.
Hope you ladies had a good weekend. I was back at work yesterday, so DH brought me lunch at least.

How are you feeling, Heels?
On the bright side, 3 day week! That excites me.

Ack, that sounds horrendous, Heels!
I had way too much sangria and sunshine this past weekend. I'm still recovering.
Good Morning SBers! I hope everyone had a long, great weekend. Barf on Tuesdays disguised as Monday.

Now's a good time to need a dresser, they are having a great sale.
