Music recs help

Hi ladies,
Does anyone have a song they can recommend for a father/daughter & mother/son dance? (We'll most likely be doing the dance together). I love the Beatles "In my Life" but my cousin did that at her wedding in May for the same dance and don't really want to repeat.

I tried asking on the music board but haven't gotten anything so I'm hoping you have some great recs I can try out.

TIA!
Julie

I danced with my dad to "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban, and DH danced with his mom to "I Hope You Dance" by Leann Womack. I love both songs, but the first is one of my ultimate favorites- not too mushy and standard, but really special. Wedding Wire has a list of songs for everything, from ceremony processionals to reception music.

My dad and I danced to "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart :)  DH and his mom danced to "My Wish," I think by Rascal Flatts?  My mom and I also danced together and she was debating between "Turn Turn Turn" by the Byrds and "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder, and we ended up choosing the latter.

There's a whole big music section in this month's Brides magazine (still have my subscription, ha!), and here are the suggestions for father-daughter dances in there:

    "My Girl" by The Temptations
"In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride
    "Umbrella" by Rihanna (what??)
"Kokomo" by the Beach Boys (also what??)
"Season of Love" by Shiny Toy Guns
"Sweet Child of Mine" by Guns n Roses (what again??)
"Good Day Sunshine" by the Beatles

These are their suggestions for mother/son songs:

"You Are the Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder
"Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers
"I Just Called to Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder
    "Halo" by Beyonce
    "One Love" by Bob Marley
"Birthday" by Bird and the Bee
"Your Mama Don't Dance" by Poison
"I'm Happy Just to Dance with You" by the Beatles

Here's the Knot's list of parent dance songs:

LaFemme - that is on my list!

I actually think we are going to do Paul Simon's waterworks song "Father/Daughter" - it makes me tear up when I think of it (exact opposite of what I want to be doing during my wedding) but means so much to me that I think I have to:

    I'm gonna watch you shine
    Gonna watch you grow
    Gonna paint a sign
    So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
That loved his daughter more than I love you

It was on the Rugrats movie soundtrack (yes, really) so is a bit upbeat in tempo.  And it doesn't strike me as too much - the song "I Loved Her First", although what my mom loves, just feels a bit - I don't know, possessive?  But all my friends disagree, so there you go!
