Veil with hair down

Hello ladies!  I am wanting to leave my hair down and wear a fingertip length veil.  I'll curl my hair and use hairspray, but is this enough to hold the veil?  Has anyone tried this and had any issues?  Any tips and tricks to share?

Re: Veil with hair down

  • I am also doing a veil w/ hair down... I have an amazing stylist an she said she was going to do something with my hair, create a bunch that you cant see, that will give me volume, but also allow her someplace to securely place the veil. She described it like she would be putting my hair half up w/out it looking like it, by strategically placing a few strands of hair.  Not sure if this makes sense! but that's what she told me she was doing, and she does amazing work.  (I used to work there so I have seen tons of her work first hand).
  • it will stay in best if you put just a few pieces of hair up. your stylist can disguise it so it looks like all of your hair is down. It will give the veil something to "grab" onto

  • I did my own hair this way. My bridesmaids pinned it down to my head with bobby pins. A finer comb will hold better. And then just pin it down really well.

  • If you are wearing just the veil and leaving it on...try this fool proof method.  Using one of those little rubber elastic bands for children, take a very small piece of your hair and put the elastic in as tight as you can right where you want the comb.  place the comb in your hair just above it making sure that it is catching on the elastic and that the elastic is covered by the comb.

    It works!

You can always take the elastic out if you are taking the veil off.
