Ever since DH and I have pledged to not dip into our savings unless it's an emergency, money is particularly tight for us between the first of the month when our rent is due, and the 7th when DH gets paid. It gets better every month, but we still haven't built up our checking enough yet. And it certainly doesn't hurt us to be tight with things.
ANYWAY, DH just got news that his paycheck is going to be delayed by at least a week. Last month it was delayed by a day, which is kind of acceptable. But a week. Jeez. He works for a non-profit, which unfortunately gets a lot of funding from the federal government. They are waiting on a big payment to come in from the feds before they can release the paychecks.
I get paid tomorrow, but it's not the "big money" that DH makes. (Hahahaha, big money! Most of you would be shocked at our combined incomes and how we manage to get by on so little.)
So - probably no mother's day gift for me. NOT that I'm complaining - just haveing a pity party of sorts. I AM thankful that we both at least have jobs.
