Wino evening roundup

Re: Wino evening roundup

  • You still have insurance, you just end up paying different amounts at different times. If you don't take any prescrips and never get sick, then it's awesome. Otherwise you could end up paying a bunch out of pocket.
  • Missy, you have to plan to get pg in jan or feb so it's all in 1 calendar year :)

  • We are pretty healthy people and I try to avoid the dr at all costs, esp now that we have this kind of insurance.
  • An HSA doesn't seem like it works much to your advantage.  Although I'm not sure my PPO does either. :-/

  • if you dont get sick it works to your advantage :)  for me the premiums are half of the normal PPO

  • I think the key is to have a lot built up in the HSA, but since they just went to it a year ago, we aren't quite there yet.

Good talking with you ladies. I think I am off to read for a bit and then will be heading to bed. I have a lot of stuff to get done tomorrow so I can really enjoy the holiday weekend with H and my last few days of break before going back to work.

    Good night everyone!
  • Is dental included in the HSA?  I need to find a new dentist.  The last one I saw wanted me to pay $160 to fill a cavity, after what my insurance covered.

  • Nighty Missy!

Shortee, we had an insurance rep come and sing it's praises this year. They say that the premiums are lower, so you should put the difference towards the HSA. If you never have to go to the doctor or get prescrips, you will save money. They also say that with traditional insurance like PPO, you pay premiums and copays that "go nowhere".
  • I'm not sure about that Shortee. I have additional dental insurance on top of my medical. I know you can get personal dental insurance. KentuckyKate did just a week or two ago (are you lurking??)
  • All right ladies, apparently J and I are going bowling.  I'll come check in when I get back if anyone is still around.  Otherwise, have a good night!

No, but we have dental offered separately. You can use your HSA account to pay for the dentist though - it's cheaper for me to use the HSA account to pay for cleanings than to get dental insurance.

  • Wow you're bowling late! :) Night!
  • Night Missy!  Have fun bowling Shortee!

I'm off to the fabric store to pick up a different pattern for this apron I want to make.  I decided I don't like the pattern I have.  See you all tomorrow :-)
  • I love bowling!  H and I went on Monday.

I just got back from Michael's.  I'm going to crochet H a new hat.
  • I should probably go to bed too. Night ladies!
  • I walked outside and turned around and walked back in.  It's frakkn cold out there!  The fabric store can wait until tomorrow, methinks.
  • I want to learn to crochet!  My grandma taught me, but I can only do one line, I don't know how to connect it.
