Also, how exactly do you describe him in normal conversations?  Because I just spent about 5 minutes trying to type that original post without making it sound immaturely sexual.

Lol, I'll post pics soon, I promise!

I usually describe him as a Siamese cat without any hair, who smells and feels like ballsack but has such a great personality that we love him anyway.  Then I whip out my phone to show whoever it is a picture.

Tafft1- He's actually a Russian Peterbald.  Don Hairless cats and Sphinx cats are also, well, hairless, but they're different.  Peterbalds are actually hairless Oriental cats, so their ears are more on the sides of their heads, they're very elongated and vocal, and they like to jump onto your shoulders or back or into your arms.  Don Hairless cats are short and stout with smaller ears, and Sphinx cats are somewhere in between but less social/vocal than Peterbalds and also less likely to get along with other pets and children.  Mr Mewton has a "typical" Peterbald personality in that he loves everyone and everything and will happily let children drag him around and snuggle him a bit too roughly.

    Some pics from yesterday:

    "nomnomnomnomnom!"

"I didn't tear up that sock on the floor, I swear!"

I'm planning to dress him up in every outfit he has this weekend and do a photo shoot.  We need more pictures of him in costume!

My heart is so full of love for that cat, and I can't figure out why.
Did you get him from a breeder?

SMELLS AND FEELS LIKE BALLSACK... even better.

That seriously just made my week!

Okay serious question...  I'm allergic to cats but I like them and my son is obsessed with cats.  Our old cat was rehomed to my aunt due to my allergies and my son still calls it his cat and tell me he wants to go see his cat Chloe frequently... Chloe has lived with them for over a year and son is only 3.  He also begged me to get a kitten the other day because then we could have Chloe back at our house and they could be mommy and baby like Bradley and you mommy... I almost cried in the damn pet store!  Plucking at my heart strings.

I got him from a friend who shows Don Hairless cats.  She imported Mr Mews and his sister from Russia after Mr Mews won "Best in Show, kitten" at an international cat show in Moscow.  I think she intends to breed his sister, who is showing quite well as an adult, but Mr Mewton had no interest in being a stud and kept getting beat up by the females!  So we neutered him and he became our pet :-)  He is seriously the coolest cat on Earth, we love him to death!

dwest- hairless cats are not hypoallergenic BUT my FI is allergic to cats and has had no problems with Mr Mewton.  I think the biggest help is that we bathe him so often, and his dander doesn't pile up in his coat (since he has none) so it doesn't seem as bad.  Do note that they are extremely high maintenance!  If you want one, look for retired adults.  They're usually only 2-3 years old and they go for $200-500 instead of the $800-2,000 kittens sell for.  Also, check craigslist.

Sh*t.  I got side tracked with those heart strings.  I was wondering if I wouldn't be allergic to a hairless cat.  I've heard its the dander not the hair, but it they don't have hair to begin with is their skin still the same?

You can train any breed of cat to walk on a leash, depending on their temperament and how early you begin training.

We tried to get Pouncival to walk, but he is a big baby (and was already an adult) and froze as soon as I took him out the door. We never tried with Etcetera (who, come to think of it, is half-Siamese) because we decided we don't want either of them to WANT to go outside. I feel better with them being FAR away from the door.

    I'd cuddle him!

I think Lucy might have some Siamese in her.  She's really just a mutt cat. She will talk to you when she wants something, but she isn't exactly vocal.  She never meows for no reason, but if you tell her not to do something, she'll meow at you like she's backtalking.  And she loves water (just doesn't love to be in it).  She'll walk in on you when you're in the shower just because the water is running and she sits in the sink.

    Sily girl.

Fun fact: Pouncival is INCREDIBLY talkative and very friendly. He'll have a whole conversation with you. When we walk in the door, he asks how our day was. Seriously.

Etcetera didn't know HOW to meow when we adopted her. Not a peep. She learned it from Pounce, but she still only speaks occasionally. When she does, it's very intentional and distinct, but very quiet. Like she's whispering.

    Very un-Siamese-like.

I won't even be able to find lucy sometimes because she never meows, really.  Unless she just really wants you to know that she is going to do what she wants to do and doesn't care if she gets in trouble.

"Lucy girl.. don't you jump on that counter."
*looks at me, looks back at counter*"Mrowww."
    "Luce.."
*looks at me, back at counter* "Mroooooooow." *jumps anyway*

Or when we play, I'll meow at her and she'll meow back.

Oh, and she'll meow when she goes to the litter box.  She isn't in pain, she just wants me to know that she's using the litter box.  We had some issues with that, so she got lots of treats whenever she would use it, so now I think she just announces when she's going so I'll give her a treat.

I only have one, but I'm totally a cat lady.  I'm a proud

Mr Mews walks on a leash AND uses the human toilet!  Narwal- he meows when he's going to use the toilet, too, because we used treats to train him :-)  And he has conversations with us, like someone said he's just telling us about his day.
