A little help needed :)

I totally know I can't dictate what people wear to my wedding, but I just got a text from FMIL asking if she could wear a cream or champagne colored dress. I replied that my dress is ivory and champagne so I'd prefer that she stayed away from those colors. Am I out of line by saying anything?

However, if she does decide to wear that, then there really isn't anything you can do...People will know who the bride is

Thanks Andrea! I know she's not doing it to upstage me or anything. I think she's just a little clueless sometimes, but I still love her to pieces.

Nope, I think your fine. And it's nice that she asked first.
My FMIL keeps asking what she's "Allowed" to wear. I always laugh at her and tell her anything she wants. She then will ask me to remind her of our colors and then she thinks she has to wear blue, green or yellow. She's so cute.

I think you were fine saying you'd prefer her not to wear something in that color. That was very thoughtful of her to ask and probably knew what your answer would be but wanted to check.

i agree, it was very thoughtful of her to ask, and since she did ask, it was fine to tell her how you really felt!
