Good morning! I'm up ridiculously early today because one of our fire alarms started beeping at 5:30. Why is it that alarms only beep in the middle of the night?
What are everyone's plans today? We are going to the movies and then to a get together at my mom's.
Re: Merry Christmas Eve!
This a probably a P&R so have a enjoyable Christmas Eve. Enjoy the moments!
We're doing Christmas with my family tonight and the Bs tomorrow. I'm SO stinking excited because Baby Bee is old enough to really enjoy it this year. I cna't WAIT for her to see her Santa gifts in the a.m.

I wanted to leave earlier but in a way it's good we're leaving at noon. I'm hoping Whisky's meds come in. I ordered them last freaking week and they should have been here by now. I'm really low on one, but my biggest worry is the chemo one that has to be kept cold, so if it comes after we leave then we are kind of screwed and I'll have to order it again, and it's expensive.

Glad you had a safe trip home Steph.
Just got up to clean up cat puke, he was not going to let me sleep in. And he has no idea what this baby "thing" is.
So I got up,made coffe finished laundry and now we are finishing Love Actually.
I have to bake today.
Not doing much right now. Still haven't made my way out of bed. I did all the cooking last night, so I don't have anything to do this morning to prepare for today's festivities.
Not much on the schedule. Just having a Christmas get together with family for lunch. This side of the family is always so much fun, so I look forward to seeing everyone.
And my H just texted me and said "I told Santa about your work schedule and arranged to have him drop off your presents today so you could open them tonight and have them for tomorrow." I want to be mad because I asked him not to get me anything because he just paid a ridiculous amount of money to have new tires put on my vehicle, and when I reminded him of that, he just said (like a total dork) "You'll have to take that up with Santa. I hope he doesn't scare the cat."
Guys, I love my husband. I think I might be getting a Kindle, which would be AWESOME to have for tomorrow, since we only have 3 guys here all day.

That's really cute, J. Good H.
My parents are coming over today and we'll be going out to eat and then coming back for gifts. N and I are cleaning now and then I'll be heading to the store for apps and snacks. Tomorrow, we'll be heading down to my aunt's house to see everyone. I can't wait to see this cutie again:
Have a great holiday, everyone!

Well, I just spoke to the landlords and thankfully they will be home for Christmas, so they can get the meds in the fridge if they arrive after we leave. Now I just have to hope the one lasts the next few days before I get the refill.
Aw, J&K, I love that response (take it up with Santa). H has finally learned to just indulge my Christmas spirit as well. Well, I just spoke to the landlords and thankfully they will be home for Christmas, so they can get the meds in the fridge if they arrive after we leave. Is it a guy thing? My husband's family never did much for Christmas, and I actually cried over potentially not having a tree this year (Christmas was always a really huge deal in my family and I was also upset about having to work all weekend and not getting to celebrate really). I think after that rather embarassing episode, he finally gets that Christmas is a big deal to me.
Morning, I am up and getting ready to leave the house. I have to pick up one last gift that I ordered and finally arrived at the mall. Then I am coming home to finish baking and wrapping. Then, when FI gets out of work we are going to pick up his father and go to his sisters for a family get together. I get to see our new baby grand niece who was born last Saturday for the first time! Plus, his sister always has the best food at her parties. This a probably a P&R so have a enjoyable Christmas Eve. Enjoy the moments!

Christmas is a big deal to my family too, and we've had our traditions for years. H's family, not so much. I mean, they celebrated, but not to our extent, I don't think. He doesn't like to decorate, but he does enjoy the end result so that counts for something.
When I was at my grandparents' last weekend for their Christmas celebration, I asked if santa was coming (an old family friend who plays santa for many families on christmas eve, who is the reason why I believed so long because of the elaborate lengths the family went to), and my grandma said he wasn't going to be Santa anymore. He has a lot of health problems so it's just not possible, and I was/am so sad. I can't even explain how bummed it makes me to have that tradition end, while H just said, 'Well, that's probably because he isn't santa" when I said "*name* won't be santa anymore."
He got the death stare, ha. H doesn't get it, since he didn't grow up with that. But I think now he understands why it upsets me so much, at least.
I'm exhausted. I got home last night at almost midnight, then made cranberry sauce, boiled eggs for deviled eggs, and made cookie dough until 0130. And then the twins were up at 0430. And then I had to leave for work at 0600. AND THEN, I have to go home, do Christmas dinner/presents at MIL's house, AND THEN go home and wrap presents, prep dinner for tomorrow and bake cookies and pineapple upside down cake. AND THEN, I have to leave for work at 0600 tomorrow.
I am SOOO looking forward to my MON off.

Ha, this is one of those practial examples of why we use punctuation, but it would be lost on my kids.

I agree. I mean, it's not fair to just say "oh it's a guy thing" but you're right that I've also never met a guy who thought it was a big deal.

Oh, I see it now. I'm a little tired, so I was confused. Pardon me.

Ohh, I thought your response was a clever quip because of it. Haha--I was thinking, Tide's a fast thinker!

But, uh, can I have some pineapple upside down cake? It's my favorite, and I will brave the stomach cramps for it. Yum.

Tide, that sucks about having to work. Maybe M can videotape their reactions to the presents so you can watch later?
J&K, H definitely tries too. He even suffers through 2 hours of Christmas music on the ride down to my family's.
It's a huge botanical garden in PA. I'm pretty excited. We've been a few times before at Christmas but not in a few years.
Sesh - I suggested that to him, but IT'S NOT THE SAME! I suggested he just keep the kids downstairs until I get home, which is possible.

what time do you have to work til?

Nates, I am glad there is no color selection in that photo, cause lets be serious, Who the eff does that these days? LOL

Tide, that sounds AMAZING. If I ever make it to your area, I will be expecting some delicious cake
Nina, that looks really cool!
You can actually keep Taryn away from all the presents that she knows are waiting for her downstairs? ha, that would have been impossible with my little brother. I was a little easier to keep in my room. what time do you have to work til?
Posted by Seshat411
I'll probably be home around 3pm.
It's not unheard of for M to keep the kids downstairs (we live in the basement) for part of a day. He'd just have to do breakfast and lunch downstairs instead of at the kitchen table.
