In Response to Re: 63 days to go... When will BRIDEZILLA make an entrance? : Honeslty I just had no idea there was such a physical difference between and IUI and IVF.  The whole cycle has just been, I dont know, terrible I guess.  Im just sick of feeling like shiit.  Ive really tried to be positive about the whole thing and Im just about at my emotional and physical limit.  Luckily Ill know the results on Friday so the end is in sight, lol.

You can really only be so positive when you're pumped full of hormones that screw with your emotions, make you bloat, and make you sick. I can only imagine how difficult it is to go through all that and not even be guarenteed a good outcome. You're allowed to bitch sometimes. Was this your first cycle of IVF?

Yes.  I did 3 injectable IUI cycles before that.

Gotcha. I think the woman I mentioned before went through 2 or 3 cycles before conceiving her first child, but then was successful on the first try with the second one. I hope this round is successful for you so you don't have to go through it again.

  • My rehearsal was the most awkward, awful thing ever.

Background: I'm deaf, but I grew up strictly oral and didn't start learning ASL until I was 17 or so.  None of my family signs.  I went to Gallaudet for grad school and ASL became my primary language, though I still speak with my family and my hearing friends of course.  H is hearing but signs fluently, and we use ASL to communicate with each other.

Our officiant was the priest from Gallaudet.  The ceremony was in ASL with voice interpreters.  My mom knew this from the beginning and was ok with it.  However, she apparently failed to make the connection that ceremony in ASL also = vows in ASL.  I thought she knew this already. Apparently not.

So during the rehearsal, we got to the vow part and H and I started signing.  My mom looks shocked and blurts out "you mean I won't hear my daughter say her vows??" and starts SOBBING.

She cried the whole rest of the rehearsal and all the way to the RD.  She did tell us that she knows it's our wedding and she wanted us to do what we felt comfortable with and that she would be ok with it, but it was obvious that she was really upset.  We had a dessert reception for all of the wedding guests at my parents house after the RD (70 people there). H and I met with the priest during this to talk about what to do, then talked with my mom again.  We decided to voice the "I do's" as a compromise.

It was a huge mess.  But my mom got over it and she was fine during the ceremony. But yeah, it was seriously NOT something I wanted to deal with the night before my wedding.
Dead thread, but thanks for the tips!  Blue, Jesus.  My cousin wore a St Pucchi and I think her dress weighed about what yours did.  I don't know how you dragged that around all day.
    Posted by EaglesBride2012
My dress was a beast.  But it was on purpose.  I had an obnoxious wedding so I went looking for the most obnoxious dress I could find.  I wanted a beach wedding in flip flops, H wanted church.  He won.

    Here is the beast:
Gorgeous gown!  That top shot with the window is incredible.  Your photographer was kickass.

We spent a lot of money on a photographer because pictures were really important to us.  He was awesome to work with.

You should see my wedding album.  It came in a suitcase.  Its legit 12 X 16.  It weighs about 30 pounds as well.

  • I'm 53 days out, and I think I'm the exact opposite of Bridezilla. I'm more like a "Don'tcarezilla" because I get annoyed that people expect me to care about every little thing, lol. I do my best not to show it though!

I think I'll stress out if people are late to the rehearsal dinner, or if uninvited guests show up.
