Hyatt Regency Lexington

Has anyone used the Hyatt Regency in Lexington for their wedding? I'm seriously considering them but would like some opinions before making an appointment.

I just had my reception there on May 26! I would say definitely do it! The wedding specialist there, Laura Caldwell, is so great. She takes care of everything, so on the day of your wedding and leading up to it, it is as stress-free as possible. We opted for the open bar, which is pricey, but there are other options for the bar to bring the cost down. The food was terrific! We had so many people comment on how good the food was. Actually, we decided to have our reception there because we went to a friend's wedding there 2 years ago, and the food was amazing. Many of our guests were from out of town, so the Hyatt gave us a great price for their hotel rooms and everyone was very pleased with their accommodations. We had our event in the Regency ballroom, which I think is the largest event space there. We had around 150 guests. They tell you it holds up to 250, but I cannot imagine having that many people in that space. I think any more people than what we had would have been cramped, but we also had a photo booth that took up some space. Overall, we had a great experience with the Hyatt!

I recently went to a ceremony and reception there. It was very nice and the food was good but as a guest it was hard to get to and was an awkward transition. A few months later I attended a wedding and reception at the Embassy Suites. It was also very nice, the food was excellent and very easy to get to. I also liked the transition from the ceremony room to the reception room. It let your guest mingle and get to know one another like a true cocktail hour should. Very nice, really enjoyed myself.

A good rule of thumb to save you money, Lexington is not a tourist destination in the summer. All hotels should offer great rates because occupancy is so low that time of year.
