  • Some fads I don't understand and a lot of things I think are unnecessary (i.e. chaircovers, bathroom decor, 2 dresses, headtables, bridal party dances). I do like photobooths because I think it can be a favor that can work for all age groups and you don't need to worry about allergies.

My sister is going to have a candy buffet but that is because she worked at a candy store for 6 years. If budget allows I plan on having a photobooth because FI proposed to me in a photobooth.

My FI actually found the reception site and is very involved. He understands that it is OUR wedding and something for US to plan.

  • Does anyone know who this Ledy Antebellum chick is? Her name kind of rubs me the wrong way.

  • Lol... I barely understand Vally's response. Is there something I'm missing?
  • just throwing out juxtaposed terms. I thought those were the rules!

  • Wow... I must have really crashed today.  I lied, I totally get Vally's response.
  • Yea.... Lol...... My brain is all mushy!
  • I bet calm chaos was what threw you for a loop. it happens.

  • You mean Lady Antebellum, the country trio? It's two dudes and a chick, and I swear they started out with two chicks. The name must have rubbed her the wrong way too.

Nice, KPP, Jux. Although that sounds logistically difficult.
  • I had cupcakes at my wedding, but honestly I could have done a better job than my shitty baker did. ::sigh::

It's s trio? I thought it was just a singer, like Lady Gaga. Shows how hip I am to the popular culture.

  • The reason I know this, is because my mom became obsessed with their first song and told me all about them. I don't listen to country, so I was like, "Thanks for the info?"
  • I hated chair covers, too. Until we couldn't find nicer chairs in the whole state of Missouri for less than $2000. I wasn't going to have a room full of (imo) gorgeous decorations with folding chairs. Just couldn't do it.

My husband wanted to wear chucks.....I thankfully talked  him out of it. I just don't like it. Dani, I can see you're reasoning though :)

You mom and my mom should be friends and tell each other all their pointless stories. Does you mom watch American Idol or the Bachelor? Mine does and I know alllll about them. do I watch them? No. My mom also likes to talk about her dog a lot.

  • I had never heard of them until I saw your post and googled them, they look... like they are trying too hard. I dunno... I like thier name though... antebellum is a beautiful word.

Georgia: It really was much less difficult than it should have been.  But it was one of those caged in ones, and not one of the open seat ones.  Like I said, we were idiots. Still are most of the time, just not in Ferris Wheels now... lol.

My mom will not. stop. talking. about Big Brother right now.  She's like "I was reading their bio's on the website... did you see that one guy who can't eat pork?  That should be interesting!"

It's kinda cute, but... I have no idea what she's talking about.

I don't think headtables are a trend.  I think it's more of a regional thing? I've seen my friend's parents picture from the 60's and they had a headtable.

MO sucks more than sometimes! But especially during wedding planning.

  • I went to college in Chicago, and despite it being horribly expensive, I miss it soooooooooooooooooo much.  Although I have a feeling I couldn't afford half the wedding there I could afford here. Or half the house. Or half of anything. :)
  • Really that's the only thing she's really overshared with me about. Usually it's the other way around and I'm telling her all about something she doesn't give two shits about, but I tell her anyway. :)

Yup, super expensive!  Fi is from the U.P. and went to school in Wisconsin with me and when he moved down here, he was definitely in sticker shock.  We lucked out with a place for our wedding and house that's really affordable, but some places for a wedding are a rip off!  Some places in the suburbs were charging close to $100 a plate--ridiculous!
