Where to get marriage license??

HI everyone,
I was wondering about where to get my marriage license.  I live in Hamilton County, but I'm getting married in Butler County.  My fiance lives in Chicago.  I went to the Butler County website and it said this, "How does a person obtain a marriage license? The parties to a marriage shall make an application for a marriage license. Each of the persons seeking a marriage license shall personally appear in the probate court within the county where either resides, or, if neither is a resident of this state, where the marriage is expected to be solemnized. If neither party is a resident of this state, the marriage may be solemnized only in the county where the license is obtained. "  Do you think that means I should get the license in Butler or Hamilton County!! Help!

I also live in Hamilton County and fiance lives in Chicago! Are you moving up there once you get married or is he moving here?

I am starting to really stress about the marriage license, changing car titles and license etc. and then all the mailing addresses and banking info and passport! ah!!!

We were told by Hamilton County that we had to get our license in the county we were married in- we lived in KY and were married in Cincy.

I will for sure let you guys know what they say when I call.  They close early and I have had time to get a hold of them, but I should know by next week.

And I am moving to Chicago after I get married.  I'm super excited, but super nervous.  I don't have a job yet and that's the biggest problem.  But hopefully something will pan out in the next couple months.  I'm not going to worry about my license/car plates/passport until I get moved up to Chicago.  I just figured that I would have more time to spend transfering everything when I was settled in Chicago.  I have family that will still be in Cincy so I'm sure I'll be traveling back and forth still.

I currently live in Knoxville and we are getting married in Cincy. From what I understand you have to get the license in the county you are getting married in.

<div>If you live in Ohio, you're supposed to get it in the county where one or both parties lives.  If you are not an Ohio resident, get it in the county where you are getting married.</div><div>
</div><div>That's what Montgomery County told me, and that's what my friends in Warren County were told when they were married in Butler County.</div>

I read it as the county you reside in, so in your case, Hamilton County, since that is your county of residence.  If neither of you lived in Ohio, then you would do it in Butler.
