Seating Chart Woes

My reception will be for about 100 family and friends who all know each other and will be buffet style.  Do I really need a seating chart???????

Re: Seating Chart Woes

  • I recommend it.  As a guest, I want to make sure that I'm sitting in a good spot.  DH and I went to a friend's RD last month and we didn't sit for almost ten minutes because we didn't want to sit in the wrong space.  Buffet or not, it's so much easier when you know where to go.
  • Even if they know each other I'm sure there are still "cliques" within your group.  Certain people are going to want to sit together.  The other thing is that people automatically spread out when they arrive at an event with open seating so the last people to arrive may not be able to get seats together and you could have couples or parents/children split up.

  • Even though they all know each other -- what if there is one person who wants to sit somewhere, and theres not enough seats at the table they want? Avoid any sort of annoying mishaps by just doing a seating chart.
