Lily's Bridal/Other bridal salons

Hi everyone!

My wedding is in June/2012 but I am already thinking about my wedding dress. I made an appointment at Lily's Bridal on Colonial for this summer. I was wondering if anyone haas gone there and what their experience was?

Or what bridal shops you do/do not  recommend?

I've read mixed reviews about Lily's but my personal experience with them was awesome!  I didn't end up finding my dress there but my girls got their bridesmaids dresses from that shop and they have been awesome.  Dresses even came in a couple of weeks earlier than they said.  My best friend had a dress crisis when she got married last year and they completely rescued her!  She bought her dress from another store and they still worked on it at Lily's for her! I definitely think it's worth looking at.  It's a smaller store but a good selection!  Have SO much! It definitely one of my fav. part of the process!

I found my dress at Priscilla of Boston, but also had great experiences at Something Blue Bridal and Solutions (now at Millenia). I didn't look for a dress at Modern Bridal, which is just across the street from Lily's, but did go in there for a few other things and they were always very sweet and helpful.

I got my dress at Modern Bridal, and I liked them.  I looked at quite a few places, but I didn't go to Lily's.  You can see my review in my vendor reviews (link below).

    Hope that helps!

I went to Lilys it was horrible. The lady didnt even take the dresses out of the bags for me and barely helped my in clipping me in the dresses. She was too busy talking to her friend to help and the store was empty. I found a dress I liked there but I will purchase it elsewhere.

I had a similar experience with Lily's.  They were disracted and did not seem to care about helping me in a dress even with me purchasing one!  I went in one morning deciding to buy my dress (which they knew) and go no serivce.  On top of that I spoke with the alterations manager and she told me I should order a size 12!  I told her I had had that exact dress in an 8 on in another store so I didn't understand why I needed a 12 and she stated "the dresses stretch out".  The dress I tried on was brand new (they had just got in in 2 days before) so I doubt it stretched 2 inches when I put it on!  When I told her this she basically said "do what you wan" and walked away.  I left and went to Sue at Casa Di Bella in Kissimee and she is WONDERFUL!  She had a very limited selection but she was so fabulous.  I would suggest going to Lily's because they have a great selection but then to to Sue to order your dress.  Good luck!

Yes Lily's was over crowded and not helpful.

I second Something Blue Bridal, which is where I got my dress. They have a very nice selection. They really treat you very special, it was like shopping with friends than trying to get me to buy a dress. They regularly have awesome sample sales, definitely ask about this!  I got my dress in a sample sale there, that was normally $2000 for $500!

I live on the other side of the state - would it be worth the trip?

I know there are some nice bridal stores in Melbrone so I would research your area first which can be just a simple google search or by using knot.com vendor search.

Orlando does have a lot of salons to offer.  When I did my search I made a great spread sheet of the biggest and most popular salons in Orlando with a section for notes and dress styles I liked.  the spread sheet also includes adress, phone number, and hours of operation for each place. I would be happy to email this to anyone. Please email at JessupKA@gmail.com if you would like a copy.

i HIGHLY recommend Nikki B at Brides by Demetrios in Altamonte - no pressure to buy and she's super knowledgeable and sweet.

I ended up getting my dress though at Minerva's and I've heard mixed reviews about them, but I haven't had trouble with them at all!

Something Blue Bridal was great but I didn't get my dress there.   I found mine at Casa di Bella Bridal in Celebration.  Loved the shop!!

I bought my dress from Lilly's Bridal. The first time I went in, the lady that helped me was helpful but not overly so. When I went in the 2nd time to try "the one" on for my mom and actually purchase it, a different lady helped me and she was flat out rude. I completed my sale 30 minutes before closing and she made it very clear we needed to hurry up as they were closing soon. Both times I was there, no one helped me try them on, I did it myself...

All in all, I had a below average experience there. I would expect to have a pretty good experience after spending $1600. The kicker is, I saw the same dress at another shop for $900. So furious. I have my fitting next week - that should be interesting.

Had my fitting at Lily's Bridal. The lady there was different than before and was very nice. She did not help me get the dress on, but that is OK with me. She did help me do the corset back...

Overall I was happy with the fitting. Mostly because I needed no alterations! The dress fit perfect!! :)
