Invitation poll...

Okay... so this is kind of silly, and I know no one will notice but me.  I have a color in mind for the cardstock for invitations.  The place I'm thinking of getting them from has a color that is a bit more red than I want in the matte, or one that is the color I want but metallic.  I know no one will bring the invitation, hold it up next to the centerpiece and say "these don't match... what kind of bride planned this" but it's stuck in my head anyway.

Edit to add: I think the price is the same regardless of metallic or matte.

  • I kind of don't think it matters to match your invitation to your centerpiece exactly, although I chuckled at the idea of calling the place and demanding that they produce the color you want. If your invitation design looks better with matte paper, then go with that, and don't worry about the shade. If you like the metallic paper, then use that.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • I think you are overthinking this.

My invites were brown.  It never occured to me to match my floral CP to my invites.

Besides I hate when everything is matchy-matchy. I prefer when things coordinate than matchy-matchy.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • You're going insane. Stop it, please.

  • Use what they have and stop stressing.  I can't tell you to use the matte or metallic, but don't keep looking and don't be a bridezilla.

  • Just take a step back and realize that this does NOT matter. I know you know that... repeat it to yourself! :P

  • If you don't like the red options just because they don't mach the centerpiece perfectly, then yes, time to step back and breathe Tongue out

But if you don't like the color period, then I actually would keep looking around till you find the right color.
  • You are overthinking this. Big time.
  • This question is crazy.
  • Matching the invites to the centerpieces?  Totally NOT necessary.  I mean, do it if you want, but I wouldn't waste energy on it, if I were you.

  • Use whichever of the two you like better.  Personally, I prefer the look of metallic, but it's a personal preference.
