Whatcha into this weekend?
Today is more hot, hot, hot so I think we'll bust out the splash pad and let the kids get wet. Tomorrow is the 60th anniversary party complete with chicken isht sandwiches. Sunday church and taking the kids to a minor league baseball game. 6let has been talking about it for MONTHS. He's got his glove set out and even pulled out his baseball underwear. I hope he's not let down. I have a feeling I'll be chasing M2 around a stadium for 9 innings.
Re: TGIF!
Saturday: Hopefully, we can get DH's car sold. And then we're going to my IL's to hang out with SIL and nieces.
Sunday: IDK what's up for the morning, but the kiddo is going to play HORSE with Coach Stevens (coach of the Butler Univ basketball team and he's a SUPER cutie patootie) in the afternoon because my sister bid on it at a silent auction and won. She can take 3 or 4 people with her and invited the kiddo. I hope we can take pics of them playing and meet him.
Also, you can bring in your own unopened bottled water. We were there last weekend and ended up buying 3 bottles ($1 each) from some guy selling them outside the stadium. I wish we had bought about 10. Sooooo much cheaper than inside the stadium. They're also fine with bringing your own food. You just can't take a cooler in with you.
Also, also, their lemon shake ups are awful and disappointing.
From the 6let and the mitt to kiddo and the HORSE...I am cuted out.
Nothing crazy this weekend. We have a bday party for my nephew who is turning 4, and then a party for BIL who is turning 33? I think. I can't remember. It should be a good weekend. I am being told the heat will subside tomorrow. I will hope for that.
That's the one AF. Thanks for the info! I have a couple of insulated bags I'm sure I could get in. I have a feeling M2 and I will spend a lot of time in the splash pad.
Tomorrow - I hope we can do nothing. We were supposed to spend the weekend at a baseball tourney championship, but it didn't work out that way. And our trip to Sioux City will not be happening. I'm not glad that Son's team did so poorly, but I'm glad that we don't have to travel so much now.
Sunday - Hopefully more of nothing.
i'm writing up a proposal to institute "office hours" - i'd like to force people to make an appointment with me or at least give me a heads up before they come by my desk. it's annoying to be trying to field a call while i'm tying to eat my lunch, with a guy standing outside of my cube waiting to ask me a bunch of questions that i have had no time to prep for. I have to drop whatever i'm dong when someone comes by to harass me, and it is a total waste of time.
we don't have plans for the weekend. We'll probably spend a lot of time in the pool, and maybe barbeque again.
I just a friendly gal looking for options.
mrs.conn - this summer has been hell.
- Our 2001 Jeep Cherokee does not have working air, but at least it runs well (currently. knock on wood).
- Our 2003 Hyundai Elantra DID have working air, but does not run because it needs a new engine and I'm not paying $3000 to repair a car that I didn't even spend $3000 on. It will soon be sold for scrap. Seriously. I just need to call this guy and make it happen.
- We were borrowing a Nissan truck from my step-father. A/C did not work.
- My dad bought a new car, so he gave us his old one to drive for a while. It is an older model Dodge Intrepid and it does not have working A/C.
- We also had the option of borrowing my uncles car, that, guess what - - doesn't have A/C.
So, we're screwed. And I do NOT want a car payment, so we'll be without A/C for a while it seems.
That's the one thing that's NOT wrong with DH's car that we replaced...it has working air, but no muffler, needs shocks, and the transmission may or may not be slipping. Oh and all the 'Christmas' lights are on (ABS, Slip, etc.). If it didn't need a bunch of work, I'd offer to sell it to ya for dirt cheap.
My sister has asked me for help with her school work so there's that and H and I have recently gotten into doing puzzles together. It's probably going to be a lazy weekend.
H's car was totaled, so we will be car shopping afterwards. It's going to be hot as ballssacks and we only have what the insurance company is giving him to shop for a car. No car payments. It probably isn't going to be exciting, but I am trying to make as much fun of it as I can.
Saturday I am playing with my friend who is the dog trainer and Sunday we are having brunch with some friends. Hopefully we'll be driving the new car by then and all of this will be behind us.
DURR.
Also, good luck with your GP.
[QUOTE]I always want to smoke, this is the problem. I quit for 5 years, and then met GayH, who was a smoker. We quit together: we have to, because our voices are really starting to suffer, and we want to impress our new director. I just wish I didn't love it so much. I could beat the addiction part no problem if I could beat the "it's delicious and I love it" part.

It's taken me forever to get over missing the 'act' of smoking. I still do from time to time, but it's getting better with time.
