J's first language was Spanish, her parents immigrated here from Argentina in the 70s. She's a little rusty though because she only speaks it to her grandmother really. I know a good amount from many years of school and a summer in Bolivia, but I'm very rusty. I want to sharpen my skill because I was nearly fluent at one point. I would like my kids to learn Spanish, and I'm sure J's parents can help with that.

Our kids will at least be exposed to Spanish and Polish on top of English- I'm half Cuban and FI is Polish.  I speak pretty respectable Spanish from growing up with my grandparents and not being allowed to speak English in their house until my grandfather passed away when I was 13.  I've lost quite a bit of it, but I can still carry on a conversation, and I use it at work all the time, so I can tell you all about the mortgage foreclosure and mediation process in Spanish :)

FI is Polish, and understands a lot although he doesn't speak. His parents speak Polish more than English, though, so I'm going to make sure that they and the other relatives who speak Polish teach our kids from day 1.  Most of FI's nieces and nephews at least understand some Polish, so I see no reason it shouldn't continue with our kids.
