I actually saw a special on that on the History channel, maybe. I think it was SUnday. FI was watching, and I was knotting, so I can't be sure, but it was interesting. There was so much isolationism at that time, and he saw that if we didn't enter the war, we wouldn't be able to stop Hitler from taking over the rest of the world. Britain was begging for our help.
Actually, he couldn't technically stop Pearl Harbor, because it would have been an offensive and he said he wouldn't do that.
But yes, it was very interesting, and I didn't remember it from all the years I took Am. Hist in school.
