Getting in Shape

1.5 Carats vs 3 Carats? HELPPPP

Is there a such thing as a diamond ring that's TOO big? I have my eye on a ring that comes in two sizes and I'm leaning towards the smaller one because I don't want my ring to be too flashy. I work in an office environment and although I want my ring to be noticed, I don't want it being the center of attention. I love the ring and I'm worried that I'm selling my self short.

  • uhh.. THere's a HUGE price difference between 1.5 and 3. Are these a bunch of little diamonds or one giant one with a littleones on the side?
Get what you want and what you can realistically afford. It's it's 3c of a bunch of little diamonds, I wouldn't consider it too blingy.. If it was a 3c ONE diamond, I probably would. That makes a huge difference.
  • when I saw this post about a ring too large in a GETTING IN SHAPE board NOT an attire / accessory board my first thoughts were: 1, must be a TROLL looking to sell us crap or 2. must be someone who needs to brag about the first world problem of "too big" of a diamond.

I choose to believe that its someone bragging about their "dilemma" which reminded me of an episode of cougar town:

IMO, it's better to have quality over quantity.  The center diamond in your photo looks like there is color in it.  I'd go for a smaller diamond that is rated colorless.
  • do what feels right to you. if you reall feel more comfortable then go with the 1.5 .... that's a nice size ring regardless.
  • Lol! This is the perfect board for her "dilemma" because she's going need all the arm strength shd can muster if she goes with a honking chunk of 3c's! We can give arm strengthing tips and finger extension workouts for her to practice holding out her hand to show off the bling ;)
