Need help-Wedding party attire for a morning winter wedding

I am getting married in February 2011. The dress shop has just gotten my wedding gown in. It is a strapless, floor length A-line in ivory. My fiance' and I are trying to decide on the time of day to hold the ceremony. At first we said evening due to my formal gown, but lately I am thinking of a morning wedding as it will be small and we need to leave early for honeymoon travel. What would be some good choices for my wedding attendants to wear for a formal morning ceremony? Also, is it proper to wear elbow length gloves at a morning ceremony?

I don't usually think of elbow length gloves in the morning. I would lean more towards floor-length dresses with some sort of wrap.

Yeah, I don't think of gloves either. Are you talking like, a brunch wedding? It's pretty tough to do a full on formal wedding that early. I think brunch weddings are great though, and I really considered it for us, but I hate morning's like whoa so that wouldn't have worked. Just remember the time constraints you'd put on getting ready for a, say, 11ish ceremony.

Also, formal to me doesn't have to be floor length- it's all about material, accessories, etc. So, you could very easily do a little red dress or something like that, but make sure the fabrics are rich, like silk/satin/taffeta because they hold up to a formal feel much better than chiffon, for example.

For a morning or daytime wedding, you could go with tea length or short dresses for the BMs.

Thank you everyone! I didn't buy the gloves, but my fiance' is the one who likes them. I will just tell him it's a no-no for morning weddings. I wasn't really sure about floor length for my attendants. We have looked at both floor-length and knee-length. We are going with black and ivory with flowers in ivory and red.

we were married at 11am.
the groom adn best man wore suits (he didnt want to wear a tux, and tuxes were way too formal for our simple luncheon).
our MOH wore a burgundy strapless gown with a matching bolero.
id ditch the gloves, but that's just me.

Traditionally, for a sem-formal morning wedding, gloves are optional. If your fiance likes them, I say wear them. The only time gloves are not appropriate is for an INFORMAL day or evening wedding, and yours seems semi-formal, at least.

I went to a winter wedding where the girls were wearing really simple, elegant velvet cocktail dresses from Ann Taylor (there were only 3 attendants), and it was lovely, and something they could wear again.
