AW: DIY ring bearer accessories!

I bought a fat quarter of violet dupioni silk from india and made a bowtie and matching pillow for our little ring bearer.

All the details are posted in my bio under DIY, but here are some pictures!

With all the materials (including shipping for the silk and doily), these accessories together cost me under $7.00 to make.  Yay for budget friendly!!!

Thanks ladies!  I was debating between using some ivory dupioni silk I have in order to match my wedding dress, but I thought the purple would make the doily stand out more, and would look so cute matching the ring bearer's bowtie.  I have lots of purple left, so I'm going to make the handle for the flower girl's basket soon (also a doily), and a hair bow for her (just like the ring bearer bowtie!).

Just Jen--It's ok.  I feel that way too!  ;P

Alyssa, I just typed "heart doily" into ebay and found the smallest and cutest one I could find.  I also decided I wanted a little vintage one, so I thought "SCORE" when I found this one.  Unfortunately, "vintage" also meant dirty as hell, but it washed up nicely and it's outside in the sunshine right now bleaching!

Maria--OMG I can't believe I'm making this purple thing work!  As soon as I found that gorgeous (and affordable) silk from India I knew this was going to give me the purple wedding I'd always dreamed of.

  • I'm late :( But I wanted to join your RB pillow fan club! The doily and matching purple ribbon just makes it so darling. You really should think about opening an Etsy shop later on!
