Totally bummed :(

My cousin and her husband offered to DJ our wedding, but now it looks like they won't be able to make the trip out anymore.  They both just got new jobs and are having a hard time requesting off, and they are moving AGAIN (they move around like crazy, but that's another story entirely).  She also said it going to be tough financially.  I completely understand, but I wish she wouldn't have offered to do it unless they definitely knew the could be here.  There is absolutely NO room in our budget for a DJ, not even a cheap one...so it looks like we're going back to the iPod idea.   I know this will probably work out fine, I'm just kinda bummed that it's our only option.

I think the Ipod is a great idea, but keep in mind, you still need someone to announce everything.

Oh no!  I'm sorry that happened.  Sucks so bad when you have things lined up and you have to go back to square one.  I know you already know this, but everything will turn out just fine!

Ugh, that is frustrating! Sorry to hear that:(

I have been to iPod weddings, and while there are obvious differences, we still had just as much fun and danced just as much as we would have!

It'll turn out fine!:)

Bummer, sorry to hear!  I think you'll be totally fine as long as you play a variety of music that's easy to dance to.  I went to a wedding with an "iPod DJ" once, and it would have been totally fine if the groom hadn't limited the playlist to strictly 80s hair band rock....needless to say, no one really danced the entire night.

We are having an Ipod wedding! Most weddings I  have been to lately have been off ipods or laptops. It will be fine! We lost our MC (because he cant get the weekend off, hes at the low end of the totem pole in a union job), at least with music theres an alturnative, we are scrambling now to find ANYONE who can mc!
