Black and White Wedding Colors

So I'm getting married in January and my colors are black and white. I would love to incorporate black into my bouquets instead of having all white flowers. Any ideas? I love the look of the black and white anemones mixed in with white roses, but I've heard that anemones aren't in season in January. I know some flowers are called black, but are really just a deep red or purple, but I really would rather avoid this as there are no guarantees of the shade that will be available that week. Anyone else in the same spot or have any ideas?

Re: Black and White Wedding Colors

  • When I do an image search for white & black bouquets, that's all the seems to come up.
Maybe use silk anemones with real roses?

  • They definitely aren't the same as anemones, but have you thought about using mini gerbs? You can get them in white with black centers so it will still give you the same look but you are just using a different flower.

    Here is a pic...

  • There are some pretty black calla lilies that can get pretty close to being black. Perhaps you can incorporate some black feathers or ribbon.

I wouldn't mix fake flowers with real ones.

My daughter inserted a few small black feathers into her otherwise white bouquet..........

You could also ask the florist to intersperse black faux gemstones into your flowers........

  • there is a schwartzenalder calla lily that is very dark purple, and always the same shade available most of the year. Just a suggestion.
  • ranunculus have black centers too. the centers are not as big as anemones though.

  • I had a bouquet made by www.SilkFlowersByJean.com in white carnations and black accent flowers and it was very reasonably priced. Thanks, Kim
