fcking pink eye

For once, it's not one of the boys. It's ME!  I have fcking pink eye! Seven hours before I am leaving to go speak at a conference.

If I weren't going anywhere, I'd think it was kindof cool. I mean, I'm all about having my eyes glued shut. (ok, just the one eye)  But I need to interact with people, not have them avoid me like the plague.

I am using some pink eye meds we got for Dex a year and a half ago. I hope they still have some effectiveness left.  The prescription is 3x/day for 7 days. I have about a day and a half before I really need to see people.

Yes, go to urgent care and get the steroid drops.  They will knock out the infection AND make your eyes look crystal clear.  Trust me - I've been through this ten times already, before realizing it was an eye condition.

Ditto Barbie and Nico.  Get to a doctor now.

Then go home and throw all expired meds in your house in the trash and never consider using expired meds evar again.

Seriously, go to the doctor so you don't spread that shyt all over the airport and hotel and give everyone around you pink eye. You work hard and presumably have health insurance, so go to the doctor and get yourself some adult, non-expired meds for your eyes and junk drawer.

OK. The walgreens clinic supposedly has a short wait time at the moment.

I want to know what magical world you people live in where you have on-demand access to doctors, or where you have half a day to kill every time you get some kind of itch or infection.

If I can't get in to see my GP, I go to Urgent Care. At my local Urgent Care, you can register online and they call you about 30 minutes before you are to be seen. So, you can stay home and wait, or at work and wait, instead of sitting there with all the other sickies.

And I make time if my eyeballs are infected.

I picked my doc precisely because there are 5 docs and a PA in the practice.  Someone can see you within 24 hrs.  Or there is urgent care.  Or you wait half a day.

the urgent care near my building had no wait time. i generally pick a practice like 6 - look for something with multiple doctors / PA / CRN that can generally get you in same day.

also, if you let them know urgency ( business travel , need to see someone now!) they can generally fit you in. I've had to do that already to get meds to last me through the trip.

OK. I went. "short" wait meant there were only 2 people ahead of me. The whole adventure, including prescription pickup, took 75 minutes. Which isn't too terrible, I guess. Please to be recalling the last time I went there, however, when there was a 3 hour wait just to get in.

At least that's done with. Now I get to add "lysoling the whole house" to my to-do list before I leave in 4 hours.

Also, adding insult to injury, AF is starting to rear her ugly head. the fun never stops!

Ugh - that blows (all of it).  Can I take you to lunch/dinner while you're here?
