centerpieces

Okay--
I have had this idea for centerpieces since we got engaged last Feb. I have already made a test centerpieces. See picture below.
 

We are having a beach theme wedding and the wedding is not until August 2011. Now FI is not sure he likes them. He thinks they look tacky. I am starting to agree with him.
Do I keep with my idea or do I need to find a new one?! Please help!

    I think they look ok. It would depend on the size of the tables. what do they look like from the side? If you FI doesn't like those, how about getting taller vases and filling them with shells and put votive candles around it.

    Or what about pillar candles in vases filled with sand and votives and small shells scattered around the pillar candles.

    I know that Your Perfect Day rents out centerpieces.  She may have the glass vases you need and I know she has plenty of shells too.  Email her at yourperfectdayllc@gmail.com
