one 1 registry

i currently only have 1 registry - at bed, bath, and beyond.

i am just thinking about this now --- should i register at another location to make it more convienant (sp) for our guests? even if it just has 5 or 10 items on it? there are several bed, bath, and beyond locations in the area of the wedding (where the majority of the guests reside). however, there are a few out of state guests (ny, ca, wa, and pa). i haven't researched those areas to see if there is a bbb, but i am going to do that now.

Edit: I just searched the few cities of out of state guests and believe it or not, there are either bbb's in the EXACT town as my guest or VERY close by!!!

what would you do? thanks!

Re: one 1 registry

  • I know NY and CA have a lot of BBBs (at least in the areas where I've lived).

I think it's fine to only have one, if you don't really want anything else.

It might be nice to do another small one though, so that you can get more registry perks/completion discounts.
  • If you want to register for things that aren't available at BBB, register somewhere else.  If you are happy with all the stuff at BBB only, don't register for things you don't want.

I agree with this.  I would add, however, that our experience with small appliances through BBB has been terrible.  None (seriously none) of the small appliances we've purchased, our microwave, toaster, a vacuum cleaner, have broken within months of purchase.  They were good about exchanging them, but finally we just asked for our money back and went elsewhere. We had to return two microwaves (different brands), three toasters (different brands), and two vacuum cleaners (same brand).  It was irritating to say the least.  So when we registered I made sure to not register for any small appliances from BBB.
  • i am fine with the items i chose from bbb. i was just asking about convienence for guests only. i do not have any small appliances on the registry as i have a toaster oven, micro, etc. already. thank you for the warning though!

  • If you're happy with your BB&B list, and don't need anything at any other stores, then let it be and keep the one registry!  We have a BB&B registry, then FI said "I really want some Craftsman tools, I don't have any tools."  Well, this girl says ... hmm, FI needs to be able to fix stuff around the house so I don't have to... let's get the Sears registry going!  It has maybe 20 items on it.  We expect most will probably shop at BB&B, but the other one is available as an alternative collection of items too.

  • I'm also only registering at BBB. I figured having one registry would alert guests that cash is preferred. I live in WA and we have TONS of BBBs around so I don't think your guests will have any trouble shopping for you! :)

  • Register for what you want... if it all ends up being from BBB, so be it. Don't register somewhere else just to have a 2nd registry

  • In your situation, I would just stick with BBB.

  • IF you don't need any more stuff than no, I wouldn't register at a second place. I registered at two places - BB&B for "us" stuff and WS for "me" stuff i.e. baking things since I bake just about all the time. It's up to you really.
  • Are you asking if you should open a registry at another BB&B location or if you should open a whole new one at another store? I'm almost positive your registry shows up at any location nationwide. Also, I don't see anything wrong with opening a second registry at another store, some things aren't sold at BB&B. We have our second one at Best Buy.
  • i was only asking if i should have a 2nd registry at a different store to make it more convenient for guests in case they didn't want to use bbb.

  • Not if you dont want to. I only have the BBB because they had everything we wanted and 99.9% can get to one. that .01% live in norway and have the internet and could order from it if they wanted to

  • I also have BBB but my second one is Amazon.com.  It's easy and convenient for almost everyone.  And you can put on almost anything on it.  It's up to you, don't register for anything you aren't going to use.  But have fun with it.  On Amazon, we added things we need.  Yes, we have the usual, but we need things for the home.  We added a wheel barrow, because we need it.  And I've been toying around with a BBQ.  It's all up to things you would use and need.  Amazon is great though :)
