Centerpiece Opinions

For my DIY centerpiece, I started out by buying rotera lanterns from Ikea a while back.  I didn't really know where I was going to go from there, but have been playing around with things.  After I finally received the votive holders that I was supposed to get a week ago that the UPS man damaged, I was able to do a very rough mock-up of the centerpiece today (it is just on a white bath towel because I don't even have a tablecloth!).  The voitve holders are actually much bigger than I thought they were going to be, so I'm not sure what I think about all of this yet.  I'm thinking maybe there are too many shades of blue going on and I'm questioning if it is too geometrical. I would also probably be scattering more of the starburst confetti and tying ribbons around the votive holders. Any feedback or suggestions on how to improve would be appreciated. Thanks!

Pretty lanters, I like this idea!

I'm thinking that you're right about the shades of blue- it's like the votives and napkin don't quite match, but they're also not quite far enough apart either, you know?  Both shades of blue are really vibrant and pretty though!

Would you consider adding one or two more votives?  I definitely don't think it's too geometric!

I like it, but I'm wondering what it would look like if there was more height to the lantern?? Joann's sells these holders ~ http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp?pageName=search&flag=true&PRODID=prd53291
Not sure how tall the lanterns are though.

I like the idea!  I love the lanterns, I do feel the votives are a bit too big or the blue fabric square you have on the table is too small.  The proportions are off IMO.

What if you used a clear glass votive that was smaller and used a blue runner or bigger square?

GL!  Keep us posted on your decision!

I agree with others. In the picture it looks like the votives are purple, while the table cloth is blue. I like the lantern (I own one!) but the square fabric is a bit too small.

Thanks for the ideas, girls!  I think I am headed to some craft stores today to experiment, because I am not quite happy with them as they are now.

punk-Ness - I really like the idea of hanging the lantern from something to give the whole thing more dimenstion.  Unfortunately, I don't think those ones from Joann Fabric would work because the lanterns are an inch or two bigger :-(.

I'm going to see what I can find today!

Late here, but I really like Meg's idea of using a table runner instead of the square fabric. Cute though! Have fun experimenting! :-)
