Wedding Band Blues

I would love to get some feedback on the cost of bands.  We found a really great band that will cost us $5,000 for 4 hours (includes 7 pieces).  Does this sound right or are we getting ripped off?  I'm trying to stay on budget.  Thanks in advance to reponders;)

    It sounds about right to me. I work for an entertainment company in Michigan and we write a lot of contracts for wedding bands. I've seen cheaper with more pieces as well. I guess it just depends on the quality of the band. I don't think you're getting ripped off, but I think you can find cheaper!

    the band i got for my wedding normally charges 6,000 but because they played at my sisters wedding and i played lets make a deal we are paying 4800 for a 9 piece band
