Just found my venue and need some advice, is it a good place?

I just found the place of my dreams and goes with every part of my theme.

The HardRock Casino and Hotel in ABQ, NM.

Tell me what you think please.

Cool. We need to stay in touch so we can exchange advice and tips. Who are you working with Erline?

No we're working with George, but I think Erline will be doing some stuff for us. She's really nice! When are you getting married?

September 3, 2011 so next year but we have an appointment on Thursday to meet with them, and get quotes and such. But, I have basically already decided I love the place and want it. Any good suggestions for anything else in Albuquerque i.e, flowers extra?

I love it too! As far as flowers are concerned, I haven't even started looking. I hear good things about Albuquerque Florist, and I know Osuna does a good job and has great prices. The only thing is Osuna has not returned my calls! It makes me worried that they wouldn't be trying harder to earn my business. How hard is it to return a call? Then it makes you wonder if they are reliable at all?

Also, ask Erline for her resources. George has been super helpfull directing us to other companies that we are now using!

She has actually only been there for like 4 months and she doenst know anything!! she also doesnt answer my emails and when i ask her question that she should know she says she will have to get back with me. I't's just really annoying! when i first started looking at hard rock i was dealing with George and he was great!! but now i have erline and i'm sorry but i dont really like her. yes she is nice, she is very nice, but she has a lot to learn and i dont feel comfortable with her handling my wedding.

I feel like that too sometimes but i have confidence in her to get the job done. I have a year until my wedding and you both get married there before i do so let me know how it goes so if i need to find somewhere else to get married i wont be doing it last minute thanks!

Wow, this does not sound like the place that I dealt with before. Hopefully now that this place is under new management the customer service is better. My experience with them was HORRIBLE. They totally messed up a two-people affair I had planned to welcome back my DH from his deployment. They assured me everything was OK, and when we arrived, the people at the desk did not even know about us!
It ruined the welcoming back of my Love, and it just showed their lack of professionalism.

I would advise you NOT to trust them so blindly that they will get the job done. They didn't for just a tiny private event, imagine a wedding party!

    Good luck!

AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! Dealing with Hard Rock and just want to scream!!!! Why doesn't anyone call you back or answer their damn direct line? I was in love with this place, but now, I'm not so sure! Beware- your guests may have problems using the "room blocks". Apparently booking a room four months in advance is frowned upon!!!!! - Sorry just ranting. Lol!

whats going on with your room blocks?
  • edited December 2011
Well, to start off, our group code won't work in the website, so I called George, and he said it was because there was a glitch in the computer system and that all my guests would need to call in. No biggie right- wrong! My MOH and her husband called to reserve their rooms and they gave them the code and referenced our wedding, and the front desk told them that our wedding block had not been set up yet because the wedding was so far in advance. Four months is too far in advance?!!!! I could understand a year, or even six months, but four months with a hotel that completely books up every weekend is not too far in advance. So now, our guests have been told that their reservations will count- but that they need to call back later and make sure that the discount is applied to their reservation. It's so inconvenient! You would think blowing tens of thousands of dollars at a place would guarantee good customer service, but I guess we aren't so lucky! Ok- that was a long rant. I am not trying to go all bridezilla, but I'm starting to learn that there is a fine line between being crazy and actually being stern and making people follow through with what they say they will do!

I completely understand! They do book up every weekend, and my family will be coming from out of state as well, if i have the problem u are having i would probably not be to happy about it either.

I am not getting married there, but my company just held our annual banquet there.  The hotel rooms were gorgeous, swanky.  The staff was excellent, very professional.  Our event was about 250 people.  Dinner was excellent & we had a rock band in a room across the hall.  Decorations were great, as was service during dinner.  Can't say enough good things about the Hard Rock!
