Getting in Shape

P90X success?

My fiance completed P90X and was thrilled with the results as he lost around 8 lbs and built quite a bit of muscle.  He followed the P90X diet perfectly.  I would like to hear any success stories from a female perspective and whether or not you followed the det plan.

I was really into P90X the first 2 weeks I did it (I have been slacking the past 3 weeks).  Now it seems like a chore.  Do I really need one hour just to do pushups and pullups?  I can't do either without assistance and feel that I'm really straining myself and afraid I will get bulky rather than lean muscle.  I feel like I get a much better workout when I do intervals on the treadmill for only 20 minutes since that makes me work up a real sweat and tires me out faster.  Also, I haven't been following the P90X diet but am thinking of starting it, although I don't know if I'll be able to stick with only 1 serving of carbs daily for the first 4 weeks!  I am considering doing the Weight Watchers diet which seems more well-balanced and just adjusting for the calories burned with exercise.

Has anyone successfully completed all 90 days of POX?  Did you like your results?  My goal is to tone up all over without adding bulk and would like to lose 10 pounds (I am 5'9" and 154 lbs.)  My wedding is in 3 months!  Thank you for your advice.

  • I did p90x for about a month and a half and I started to tone my whole body. You don't really lose a ton of lbs, but your body, you lose a TON of inches. I lost about 4 off my waist at least, and all over. I did before and after pictures and such results it was. My abs were toning up, my back was looking really nice. I got busy with things and stopped doing it. I hate how I go unmotivated, but I need to start it back up again. If you do it for the whole 3months til your wedding you will look great. IT really tones your body, and you don't get bulky. It's a nice feeling too. I miss it, I need to motivate myself again. Wanna chat more, let me know. Maybe we can help motivate each other. I didn't do the p90x diet plan, but I eat healthy for the most part anyways, more veges and fruits, I love them all now!
