Hi I'm trying to locate a good DJ for a wedding. I'm also trying to keep the cost down. If you could provide a few DJs that won't break my low budget I would appreciate it. Thank you
I guess it depends on what you consider reasonable. You won't find a good dj for less than $700+ in most cases. There are the exceptions, but from what I saw, the usual is around $1000 for 5 hours.
DJ Bruce of Phoenix Entertainment. He is a close personal friend, and one hell of a dj. He did my wedding for a discount, so I don't know what his regular rate is, but I know it's reasonable.
Affordable is relative, and I'd say someone under 1K is affordable (as YIO says).
My DJ, Craig from Red Hot Chameleon, gets very good reviews and is under that price. I think Jodi Colella (Accents Unlimited) will also be under that price, and has good reviews.
If you're still hunting for photographers too, Storybook Photo in Bentleyville offers a package - I think the wife does photography and the husband is the dj (or something like that). If you book her, the DJ is only $500. I honestly haven't seen any reviews for the dj, but it might be worth looking into!
I always recommend Party Time Productions. I used them (6 years ago) but since my wedding, my brother, best friend, cousin and bff's sister and brother all used them. They are usually reasonable and willing to work with you.
We used Bill Beers of Firestorm Entertainment. He was well under any of the above prices but he didn't have to do much for our outdoor wedding and reception. He announced the bride and groom, helped with toasts, wired a guitar and mike for the groom's sister, who sang for the ceremony, and then mostly just kept the music going throughout the night. He showed up 3 hours early to make sure he could get everything set up and stayed late because everyone was having so much fun. He was an incredible DJ and probably could have/ should have charged more. http://www.firestormentertains.com/
