well this is a confession thread.
I don't have Bill anymore. It's a very long story of which Duckis knows the whole thing, but when we moved to San Jose my brother was watching Bill, and after I moved home my brother really didn't want to give him back. He said he was the best dog he'd ever had. And since it was just me and not my H, I let him keep him. My Bro has a teenage SS and three other kids to play with him, and it's really a better fit for Bill. He's really happy. It'd have been pretty shizzy of me to take him back where he'd be alone 9 hours a day.
So now my H is home and everything is back to normal and I miss Bill like crazy, and miss having a big protective dog when my H is out of town. I do feel like an awful dog parent for giving my dog away, and maybe like I don't deserve to have another dog...but I want one.

Bonus: This is the bro that punched my H in the face. Now that he has Bill and is being so good to him, they're getting along great. They talk on the phone (about Bill) now. I get Bill pictures and updates about three times a week.

Bill brought you together...aw. I don't really blame you. Big dogs like bill need LOTS of attention, and exercise and sometimes it's hard if you don't feel it's the PERFECT match.

I don't blame you one bit, because actually you were thinking of BILL ahead of yourself. And yes, I love my protective and loud pups.

Aw CW, I totally understand. We gave one of our cats to my brother last year. She was my husband's and never got along well with his other cat or my cats. Husband's other cat was always picking fights with her and she hid all the time. She is sooo happy now, it is just her and my brother, she doesn't have to worry about the other cat attacking her and she gets all the food she can eat.

I know it's not bad now, but I feel extremely guilty about it. It worked out in the end, but I know that the transition was really hard for Bill, and he stayed at our house for almost a month with my renter while I was down in SJ because I wasn't ready to take him to my bro. That was a terrible thing for me to do, and that was selfishness.

ETA: I've also voiced in the past that I hate people who give away their pets because you're making a lifelong commitment, and then I became one of those people.

LOL! Yeah I was smacked around, I had my wrist broken, I was also raped by my uncle & my mother knew about it. She did nothing and when I called the cops my mother told them I was lying and that I was lashing out because I lost my father.
