How do you review your photographer?

Hello,

My wedding was June 25 and depite the fact that I loved everything by my photographer on her site and protfolio I was really unhappy with her photos of us and even the entire time we shot wit her. I think she might have just been having an off day but I am really upset. She friended me on facebook and my photos are aweful next to the ones she posted of other brides (shadows, blurry, not croped so there is a camers from the second shooter in it) and I am really upset. She asked me to review her and I can't think of anything nice to say it okay to be honest and say she didn't take shots of the things  I wanted her to take photos of and I am upset and would not hire her again?

Please help I hate being mean but I paid a lot of money for something I don't like we have the photos relatives taken in our wedding album over hers.

  • sorry for all the type-os so mad about it all
  • She really sent you photos with the second shooter in them? thats awful. i know what you mean about not wanting to be mean, but she will probably take it as mean no matter what you say. if she asked you to review her, it must mean she doesnt think they are bad?

  • First, I would let her know how you feel and see if she can edit any of the photos so that they're better.  Then do your review.

  • I totally agree. Give her the chance to make right by you. If it's still a disaster, give a honest review.
  • I agree that you should give her the chance to make it right before you write the review.

Are the pictures she put up on facebook the final ones?
  • Agree with PP.  She would not have asked you for a review if she is aware of how unhappy you are with the photos.  Your wedding was not too long ago, maybe she hasn't touched them up yet?  Either way, I would let her know that you are this upset with the photos and see if she can fix them.  If she doesn't, then I say it is fair to give her a poor review.  But if she is a good person, she will do everything she can to fix them as best she can.
