March 2012 Weddings

Rehearsal dinner guests

hey girls, Who are you planning on inviting to your rehearsal dinner? Are you only inviting people who are taking part in the ceremony and their significant others or are you also inviting extended family you're close to? Like uncles and aunts and cousins? If so, where are you drawing the line? Thanks!

Re: Rehearsal dinner guests

  • The bridal party and SO, moms, my uncle who is walking me down the aisle, RB and FG with their parents and the 3 international guests that we have. I personally would even invite the international guests but FMIL is paying for it and they're her family.

  • I really had to draw the line here.  Originally I wanted to invite bridal party + significant others and parents and all out of town guests.  Well that ended up being a guest list of 90 people and I didn't really want to throw another wedding.  So now it's just parents, bridal party + their families, and my fiance's family/friends from France (since they came so far) and we still have a guest list of like 40-50.

  • Currently we are doing just immediate family, wedding party and SO.  We may end up having a few honored guests, so the count will be between 20 and 25.

  • We're inviting our bridal party and their significant others if they have one, both sets of parents, 3 sets of grandparents (my grandpa is also our officiant), and our flower girl and ring bearer (both belong to one of my BM). I believe this brings our total to 34 or 35 guests.

No. I'm not inviting any of the vendors, other than my grandpa/officiant obviously. One of my BM owns the photography company we're using. She obviously won't be the photographer the day of the wedding, the other photographers that work for her will be, but she'll be our photographer for the rehearsal.

We are inviting wedding party and their families, the minister and his wife, and of course our parents and siblings (who are in the wedding)  I am the only one who has grandparents so my grandmas are invited and his mom is inviting her brother and his wife who will be our only out of town guests.    If we were paying for it, I would extend the invite to our aunts and ucles but his parents have been gracious enough to offer to host it so I am not adding any more to the list.   This is about 24 adults and 9 children.

  • We are having our rehearsal during the day with just the immediate wedding party so we are not having a rehearsal dinner. We decided that since it was destination, that we are already spending alot on the wedding and reception itself. We will be taking our BP & most likely their sig others (if they come to the rehearsal)  to lunch after the rehearsal though so it will be about 15 people including us.

  • We unfortunately could not draw a line. My parents were very adamant about who to invite and it ended up working out that everyone had to be invited. So (becuase it is destination) everyone that is in town the night before the wedding is invited to the rehearsal dinner. We included the card in the invitations and asked for the RSVP on the same card as the wedding RSVP.
