Decisions to be made! oh my! Can't decide! MUA, strip tour, insuite help!

Hello hello!

I have been scouring this board for months! You all are a wealth of information and I have narrowed down many areas, but as the date approaches I am STUCK. Our wedding is booked at the COTF and MB Vista Suite in March. Who would have known NCAA was at the same time! not me. :) Thanks to you all I have the suite booked, chapel booked, MC for catering, Bentley & Wilson for pictures...

Here is where I am stuck:
Hair/MUA - Originally I was gong with GlamSquad but fell in love with Amelia C. Turns out she is booked. My next choice was Harmony Medina - and her calendar is showing that she is booked during my time frame too! uggg!

I find it is very helpful to see online pictures to see if their style fits me, etc. Something is keeping me on the edge with GlamSquad and a couple others that are well reviewed I can't see photos. How did you all decide!? Any direction is appreciated!

Strip Tour - I have been planning on the Double Decker Bus from 5-7 the night before the wedding. But my dear hubby to be thinks it is going to be lame unless we have the Rod Stewart that is in the online video. Surprised I am pretty sure he would cost a fortune and I was already planning on Travis Allen stop in on the wedding night. I am fearing the "cheez" factor and too much money.

We have 36 guests total - any other strip tour ideas? I am looking for a fun early evening outing that doesnt break the bank.

Vista Suite Questions:
How does MC, etc get into the suite when everyone is at the wedding? Delivery is at 6:30pm - wedding is at 6pm. I am thinking we will be back by 7:15, at least that is the plan in my head.

Music, etc? - anyone hire a dj for the vista suite? I want to make sure the fun factor is kept going in the suite. would that even work with 36 guests? any other ideas? Travis Allen can fit me in for 30 minutes that night, not sure if that is worth it or not.

TIA!!!!!! Your help is truly appreciated!
Molly

Hi and Welcome to the boards! Congrats on getting those big checks done!!! I'm not much help with the strip tour or vista suite questions. My wedding is off strip. A lot of people on here do the double decker bus tour though and they've got great info on that. I think even without the double decker bus, your guests won't be bored. There's a ton of things to do while you're doing your photo tour.

As for the make up artist. I am booked with Francesca Lombardo. Her portfolio is what I loved the most and she's great to communicate with. Amelia C is also very nice, but like you said, she's already booked up. Steeve Danielle is another one with a nice portfolio as well. You can check them out on TK's MUA profiles. But here's the links to them:

Good Luck with everything! Happy Planning!

Unfortunately you will need to designate someone who can get up there to let them in.

Yes, someone has to let them in.  We had our ceremony in-suite, so they came prior to that to set up.  We just ran music off our laptop, but we didn't really have a dancing crowd and weren't concerned about that.

I wouldn't worry about the double decker bus being lame, my guests loved it and we didn't have any additional entertainment.  They just thought it was cool to get a different view of the Strip, and to have the whole thing to ourselves.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

We are also doing the strip tour the night before our wedding as a meet and greet and I don't think it will be boring at all! You are allowed to bring booze on the bus as well which always helps to liven the atmosphere. I plan on stopping at the Las Vegas sign which i've never seen and i've been to Vegas 3 times! I think it will allow your guests to see Vegas from a different perspective as well as a way for those who don't know each other to meet. I have also selected Francesca Lombardo from her great reviews and her portfolio. I originally was going to go with Glam Squad but I liked the fact you know that she is doing both your hair and makeup and with Glam Squad you aren't guaranteed anyone specific. And Francesca gave my bridesmaids a great group discount!

Another Francesca Lombardo bride here!  I've already had my trial with her and I've never felt so gorgeous.  She'll be doing hair & makeup for myself and all of my bridesmaids and ditto Sin715 about the great group rate!  She's also doing my hair & makeup for my boudoir shoot next month.

I don't have any advice on the rest of your questions, sorry!

Thanks so much for all the feedback! I have sent Francesca an email to see if she is available. Kara - does Stevee D actually do the hair/mu or is there are various stylists, etc? I can't tell from her website.

For those of you doing the DD Bus - do you pick where it goes? does someone talk on it, etc? or can we just hook up our music? They emailed me back to say that the bus usually goes to sign, the length of the strip, and Freemont strip. I thought it would be fun just as is until my FI decided to interject about Rod! :) I have never been to the vegas sign either!

I dont know what to do about the suite access! everyone is going to want to be at the wedding. yowza.

    welcome!!

I ditto Francesca..shes been great. I had originally booked Stevee Danielle..but they could not offer a contract..just an email saying they would be there. Im sure someone would have shown up but I just couldnt risk it.

We are also having a DDB M&G the evening before from 8-10pm with a stop at the welcome sign. We are going to bring some drinks on but we are doing the guided tour so Im not planning anything else. Alot of our guests are 1st timers in Vegas and Ive been to Vegas but never did a tour. I think with it being dark and all the lights on the strip on and being above street level...its going to make for some awsome photo opps.

I'm using Melissa Ferreira. Amelia-C recommended her since she was booked. So far she has been nice to work with and it looks like she does a good job from her website.

How many of your guests are basketball fans?  There will be TONS of March Madness parties going on so it could be fun to stop into one of those.  MB has a GREAT sports book.  If they aren't fans, then you can skip it.

I think you would be fine without the Rod Stewart (impersonator?).  Personally, I am not a fan and would find that odd UNLESS you are huge fans.  For example, if we had a U2 or Prince cover band, everyone would get it.  However, if we just had a random performer show up, it might be odd and unnecessary.  There is probably lots of fun to be had just cruising.  Can you drink on the bus?  It's Vegas so I assume so...

Book as much as possible ASAP and make sure your guests book their rooms too (if you don't have blocks).  Prices during MM can get outrageous-even during the week.

    Now with more wedded bliss.

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

Yes, you can drink on the bus... I'm doing a DDB tour with my guests immediately post ceremony (from the Vegas sign, to Fremont, with a few stops in the middle).  They have an iPod hook up (so you can make a play list) and they will work with you on getting alcohol on board (just no glass allowed).  Apparently they can meet us the day before to pick up the alcohol, and are going to have it iced in coolers for us (ready) when they pick us up!
I think between the sights (and the alcohol) and some fun music, there is no reason for your guests to be bored...

My understanding is that each hotel has a designated area where the bus can go, but they'll get as close as they can to you.  So we met ours at MB by the Shark Reef, and it took us to Bellagio and Paris for photos.  (We had a fairly strict timeline on photos and couldn't really go much further.)

I used the spa at TI for my make up but I would suggest Glamsquad. Their website is good and all of the brides here that have used them have looked great.

Could you look into a Day Of Coordinator to do this...?

Good suggestion on the Day of Coordinator - I will check out the vendor list. Does anyone know how pricey that gets though?

Yes - I am sure we will have lots of NCAA fans! Thanks for the tip. And I do think booze, music and cruising the strip has a big fun factor in itself without "Rod"!

Francesca already emailed me back btw and is available! Just need to pull the trigger. Sounds like everyone has been happy with her.

You do not need a day of coorinator to open a door. We got married in the chapel and our wedding was all of 10 minutes. I asked 2 friends to leave right after the wedding to head up to the chapel. They weren't going to be in family or bridal party pictures, so they were able to get back to the Vista suite in plenty of time.

Our wedding was at 7:30 and I believe drop of time was 8:00pm

Thank you! That is a very good point. I know we could easily get a couple volunteers to head back to the suite before everyone else gets there. I checked a couple of the DOC websites and at this point it seems out of my budget for what we need.

No one missed our wedding in order to be their for catering. I don't even think they had to rush. They definitely walked with purpose instead of dilly dallying back through the casino. It all worked out for us.
