Snarky Brides

Lets whine?

Please, vent about something.

My skin really sucks lately and T keeps telling me to go to the derm about it which just makes me feel 100 times worse. I'm just feeling really ick lately :(

Re: Lets whine?

  • I got sunburned today....despite putting on a shitton of sunscreen.  I'm crabby and even the prospect of buying shoes tomorrow isn't making me happy.
  • I'll be up writing two papers again tonight.  I didn't got to be until 7 this morning.  But I'll be glad when classes are over in a few days, so I really can't whine too much.
  • I'm in the same boat Roxy. Its horrible. :(
    image
  • Actually the skin on my legs is super dry and gross.  It gets so damn itchy.   I'mwith you on skin issues.
  • My FI had his entire thesis/Tectonics paper file and back up copy corrupt, and has been working 20 hours days for a week trying to rewrite it. He's cranky.

I've been wedged into a really awkward position at my fission track scope trying to count, and yet keep my leg elevated (so it's stuck out 90 degrees to the side. My hips are killing me, and I have failed to get a critical equation worked out before my Skype meeting with my boss in the morning. I'm cranky.

Feel better, Roxy? Good. That make two of us. (venting makes me feel a bit better)

  • Petra- that sounds awful! I'm sorry :(

Aprove- Aloe! Sunburn is no fun. Hopefully it'll turn to a nice tan :)
  • I'm itchy. I have a healing tattoo and about 10 mosquito bites.

I feel chubba lately. My pants are starting to fit better, but I still can't stop comparing myself to other girls' figures. I just want to be happy with what I've got.

I'm also hot. Stupid AC. I'm so peeved.

  • Brooke- its ridiculous your AC is still broken. I would be raising hell
  • What's the new tattoo Brookelyn?

I had my meeting with the volunteer theatre group tonight. Not as many parents showed as I had hoped, and it looks like I will be on my own for a ton of the work again. I love working with the kids, but we just need more help.

  • Roxy- thanks. I'm really glad you opened up a vent, because I really needed one, and I can't vent to FI right now!

Roxy and Pasquale, try Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Soothing Sugar Scrub. It doesn't matter what scent. This is a oil-based sugar scrub. It has been a revelation. At first, just use it on your legs, because the first two times you use it, your skin will be kind of oily after. But then it magically stops being so oily and your skin just begins to heal. I don't even use lotion anymore. At first I used it every day, but now I just use it once or twice a week.

Brookelyn- On the mosquito bites, I've got nothing. But for the tattoo, use amber Lysterine and a paper towel to keep it clean and free of clear weep (it doesn't burn like in your mouth, I promise!), and then follow up with an impossibly thin coat of A+D ointment (diaper isle in the grocery store). Repeat every two or three hours.

Aprove- Take and anti-inflammatory like Advil, and know that i feel for you. Sunburns suck!

I feel so much better now! Finally, something that I can actually help with!

The AC is getting better. But it's ridiculous that we've had to have them come three times since Friday. It's actually cooling off. I just hope it lasts.

Jasmine, here's the new tat. It's on my left shoulder.www">

  • Aww thanks! When my legs get crazy dry this winter I'm going to try all these remedies and hopefully I wont have to sleep with tube socks or mittens on haha

  • Very nice tattoo!  I have a small shamrock on my hip and it hurt like hell.
  • Hips are painful. I have my right ribs done and the part over my hip bone was the worst.

  • I have 8 pounds to lose and I am so daamn lazy that I can't get it together to do it. I am 138 and I want to get to 130. I know those few pounds will make a big difference with how my dress fits. I am soooo beside myself about this.
And the whole time, my future husband was in the room...... image image
  • Brooklyn, that is very pretty! I know what you mean about work over a bony part. The point of the front of my shoulder was almost the worst. The worst was the dead center back of my triceps. The pain over the nerve cluster was... poignant.

  • C is still gone, my mom has been so involved with my sister lately I cant even call her (she left her fiance and moved back into the house, understandable but you told me to whine) and there's nothing on tv.  I know what I signed on for when I became an Army wife but I still hate when he's gone for weeks on end.  I don't know how I handled the deployment when I look back on it.

    Ouch!

Our artist just got doing our friend's armpit. Not sure what would possess anyone to have that tattooed. She's got this awesome new rotary gun though. It's silent - like the hybrid car of tattoo guns. She says it's smooth like butter. I didn't have anything to compare to since she did color with it and lines with her usual gun, but it sure felt better than I feared. And I didn't have to listen to the damn thing for 3 hours.

  • Brookely- Very nice! I think rib pieces are gorgoues, but I don't think I could handle the pain. I have shoulder, hip area, and lower back (tramp stamp :O) but I haven't gotten one since I was 16. When I lose weight, I am rewarding myself with a new tattoo.

When I click the link, it took me to a picture of a man's chest?

  • I recently got a tattoo on the inside of my ankle/foot and my bone seemed to hurt the least. Maybe I'm just weird...
  • Petra- Can I see your tattoo as well please? (Have I mentioned I love tattoos?) :D

  • Hmmm, weird. Does the pic not show up on this thread?

Brooklyn- I've heard of the new gun, but my next piece will be traditional tat-au work, with the boars tooth comb. My arm was 9 hours design-on-skin, followed by a 12 hours ink session. Marathon day. Hey, I was looking through your artists portfolio from the FB link you provided. You might want to pull that link, because it leads to your IRL name.

Nebb- I'm so sorry your life is so unsettled right now. Even if the worst happens and you lose you job, I am just sure that good things will come from it, in the end. Have patience and hold on.

Jasmineh- the man's chest is one picture further in the portfolio, just click the back button on the album, but it's the same pic as she posted. ETA: Never mind, you figured it out.
