We got engaged on Dec 27, 2010 so we will  have only been engaged for close to 6 months.. People were like thats not enough time to plan a wedding but I beg to differ. Our families are paying for the bulk of the wedding but the little things here and there we are mainly responsible for. The budget could be tighter mainly b/c the fi wants to by junk (ie VIDEO GAMES). but God is truly blessing... Our honeymoon is paid for!~!!!

[QUOTE]FI and I met in April 2009, got engaged on June 18, 2010, so it's been almost 9 months.  We had not saved specifically for it, but things are coming along  by using our existing savings and current earnings.  We are now saving for our home in Houston though. Anyone want to buy a house in Maryland?????  Lol!

We've been engaged since 12/25/09 but didn't start until this year since we get married next year on 9/2/12.  So far it has been going well.  I set aside my tax return and we both contribute a set amount each pay period.  We have started to dip into the account to secure vendors but I think we will make it.  I had told FI we would just need to save for one calendar year but I think we might just save until mid next year sometime to make sure we have enough $$.  We will be paying for the whole thing but FI parents have offered to pay for  the bar tab and/or the RD.  We will see how that goes because I know my mom can't contribute at all (nor are we really expecting either side to do so).  Either way we should be GTG!
    Good question BTW!
